Title: water pump
Post by: flyinlow on March 24, 2021, 09:40:10 PM
Anyone use a Flowkooler water pump on a RB?         https://www.manciniracing.com/flhimewapu.html

I built a 500ci stroker with Flowkooler and a high flow thermostat that ran hot. Changed to a factory pump and thermostat, temps dropped.

I run a Summit brand water pump housing, Flowkooler pump and Milodan hi flow 180 t stat. In 100 degree ambient at idle the car might see 195 and as soon as I start moving it drops to 175-180 or so. In the winter it sits about 160-170 or so. Aluminum 2 row radiator with big tubes and a clutch fan from a Jeep.

The real key to cooling these engines is the water pump housing, radiator and having a fan shroud. IMO

Don't forget the bypass modification:

With the Proform pump are you using the smaller A/C size pulley?

I am not sure what pulley many are using for their Final installs ? I know many do run A/C though.... and I've heard no negative feedback to report.
