Title: Turn signal and Hazzard light Help
Post by: cpthowdy1369 on April 24, 2008, 08:27:44 AM
Hey guys, I was checking my turn signals befor I go and get the charger inspected and when I signal left, the light just stays on(no flashing) when I signal right, it flashes veeeerrrryyyy slow.  When I turned on the Hazzard lights, sometimes they don't come on, sometimes they work perfectly, sometimes they just stay on.   What do you think is wrong?  Thanks for your help.

oh, duh. :slap:  O.K.  I got the paint off of the grounds.   The hazzard flashers are working now,  when the car is on, the right turn signal works just fine but the left turn signal just stays on and doesn't blink.  what do I do?   Thanks for your help by the way.

The turn signal housing grounds itself by merely being bolted to the body-pretty dumb if you ask me.  Check where it bolts up and make sure there's good metal on metal contact.  I was having the same problem and thought about rigging up a ground wire but the problem "went away."  You mentioned that your right turn signal is slow.  How's your alternator output/battery charging?

while the car is in park and idleing, the voltmeter is between the 0 and the +20.  the right turn signal works fine now when the car is on, and the grounds are fresh metal on fresh metal, but the left signal still just stays on without blinking.

:yesnod: hey guys, I found out what the problem was.  Just so you know, before you go breaking into your steering column to change out the turn signal switch,  change out your light bulbs first.  I switched mine out, now everything works.  Thanks for your help guys.
