14" wheels?
That and Chrome magnums polyglass gt tires.? Maybe swapped out by dealer at customer request who knows .Wonder what the buildsheet showed
Must have been by dealership or owner. What a sweet, sweet car!
I think the swap out could happen .I found a new 69 car on the dealer lot with 68 hubcaps

still has the high waters though :smilielol:
Maybe he traded in a '68 and liked the road wheels better.
the wheels are explained on dave's WWNBOA link, where the original owner's letter is being quoted
The dealer told me that when he got it, it had red line F70 X 15 tires and stock wheels with wheel covers. He thought that the wheels looked out of place on such an exotic car, so he changed them for some Dodge chrome "road wheels" and F60 X 14 white letter tires, if I remember correctly. He also mentioned that, as delivered to him, the paint job was rather poor so he had it repainted locally.
notice it was yet another repaint, as well
Saw this on the mclean site where it say coming soon is it this daytona or another one
1969 Hemi Daytona 1 of 1 Black/white 4-speed. This car is available from a private collection.... but, the owner wants top dollar before he'll cut it loose.... serious individuals willing to pay a premium for a rare car, can call me for details...

He's been trying to peddle my old Hemi GTX Conv for at least 3 years. It's still as it was since 1986 when I did the car over.

That guy is tied in with Carlos somehow.
Sean is his Noth American Agent for the past few years.
AWESOME PIC!!
FWIW: Goodyear "WIDE TREAD GT" is a RWL versions of the Goodyear "SPEEDWAY" nylon tire & non-fiberglass belted - so, NO Polyglas.
Again, awesome car !!!
But, I had to chuckle....... If, according to the RPM ad, this Daytona is 1 of 2 black Hemi Daytonas with white interior, making it the rarest of all wing cars ever built. OK???
So, if the black with white is the rarest, why wouldn't the black with black also be the rarest? ( I know, it is all advertising )

I agree. I wonder how many people are actually fooled by the way they try to word that "stuff".
