I need to install a drive train into a restored Superbird. The nose was meticulously fitted by the body shop and everything is nicely painted and lines up great. The hood was also aligned and adjusted with care with unblemished paint on the hood hinges and bolts. My original plan was to remove the nose and hood and install the motor through the top. However, because I have a lift, would it be more advisable to remove the k-frame and front suspension, build out the drive train on some sort of dolly and install the engine and trans from the bottom? I've never attempted anything like this before. Advise and recommendations are appreciated.

I've done multiple e-bodies from the top and one from the bottom. Easier from the bottom if everything is new and cleaned and painted. I have a k-frame cart you can borrow if needed. I seem to recall you're in Jersey? I'm in Pa near the turnpike bridge.

Put it in from the bottom! I will likely never do one from the top again.....

Put it in from the bottom... It will be tight, but doable..
Here's my thread on installing the 426 Hemi into my Daytona from underneath without a car lift..

Did mine from underneath too.....
I've been installing the engine & transmission from underneath since 1982 (or 83). What a handsome devil I was!
