Title: junkyard score
Post by: 4spdwing on January 28, 2010, 10:36:44 PM
My friend was at a junkyard last weekend and got clear turn signal lenses. $5.00 for the pair. He wouldn't even let me give him the money. The nuts were rusted on the assemblies but were going to try to get them this weekend. The guy said $5.00 for them too. They were on a 70 Fury.

I had yellow lenses on the car. I have a set of nos one's but didn't want to use them until I restored the car. These are great. Tom

WOW that is a score! I paid 250.00 for mine and thought I got a deal. How did you paint them?I mean what paint color it looks great!I wanted to freshen mine up dut didnt want to mess them up.I cant tell by the way they are taped up but did you paint the inside or the outside?  :2thumbs:

I taped the inside of the lenses and painted the outside. I just used a scuff pad on them and wiped them down with pre kleeno. I stared using mopar rallye wheel paint but it was kinda thin so I ended up putting on Eastwood reflective aluminum (#1283). They both really looked the same. I polised the lenses inside and out with 3m ultra fine compound. It really cleaned them up nice. I am very happy with them. Tom
