Is there any way to do this without harming the plastic? My dash has been painted so many times that the details are dull. I know thinner will melt the plastic and sanding is very tedious and can also dull the details. Any help is appreciated
I have heard of guys using a non-acetone nail polish remover to strip model car bodies but I don't know if that would work on your dash. If I remember right they said it was acetone that eats the plastic. You might try the auto body shop n your area to see if they carry anything. I have bead blasted painted plastics in my blast cabinet at very low air pressure with good results but never a dash panel. I have a spare end cap laying around that I might practice on and let you know.
Dow Oven Cleaner and a nylon brush, wear rubber gloves.
Thanks, I'll give it a shot
