What we need is a high resolution version of that ad!!
I was just saying to somebody today that I was building an ad for the Charger 500 because it was never done - back in the day.
I guess I was wrong!!
(And ironically...the word "SLICK"is used in both ads!! This is after I conducted my little survey to pick the best word!!)
Your right I never came across advertisement for a 69 500 as of yet except for this one. That might have been in dodge news .Ive gone into newspaper achives and found dealer listed daytona superbirds misc hemi. But seen no listed 500s or ads for a 69 500 .Other than in my collection of 69-70 Auto news. That covered the racing scene,You seen a scat pack ad showing the race car and driver and race info
those look great i will be putting some posters llike that up in the garage soon :2thumbs:

good find never seen that before ................ :2thumbs:
That would be a nice one to have reproduced in a poster size.
Ah man !!! Those are sweet......... Anyone have an extra to sell?................
Troy
Great find. Classic auto images is the company that can reproduce the old ads in large size. If you can send it to them they would probably love to reproduce this and they will probably give the sender a free 24"x36" print.
www.classicautoimages.com I know I will buy one, maybe even two!!
Or...you could send it to Mike Collins (aka: 6PKRunner) on this board. He can make laminated posters of the same, or bigger size.
I've got a whole room full of them here at my place.
Hey Dave, where did you find that photo at? I would love a clear resolution shot of it. Or to know where it came from to locate an origional one.
I bet I can guess which car it is in the advertisement though. :nana:
West coast press car?
I think it was from ? year dodge news magazine.I sold the entire collection but saved that and others to my computer. But when you find a single or collection it looks like this one

You think its the west coast press car or the east coast press car Ghoste? You have a 50 50 shot at it. I haven't ever seen the add before Dave posted it, so i"m just speculating, but either way the VIN would be within 4 digits at the most.
I'm only guessing west coast because of the background scenery. Was the Dodge ad agency out of LA at the time?
Hi, does anyone know if the "Slick" Charger 500 Ad is an original ad from back in the day or did someone just create it? :scratchchin:
Either way it is looks real sharp, thanks.

The Slick ad was created recently by a member here. There is a whole thread on it.
The one that says "Slicket way to drive" is a vintage ad.
Thats Jerry car with the 68 lights. He also has a hemi daytona

That's why I was asking because I could tell that was Jerry and his car. Thanks :2thumbs:

Yeah, the picture I used for the ad was out of an old MoPerformance magazine, a feature on the first Charger 500, which now belongs to Jerry Service in Detroit.
But, I tried to eliminate most of the distinguishing features that would identify it as being that particular car.
Now it looks really familar Magnumcharger I subscribed to Moperformance magazine out of Bensalem PA for many years.I know and run into the editor Bob Oskiera from time to time at various shows .He put a good magazine for quite sometime.Until there was legal issue over the magazines name. When this was to close to the company name moparPerformance

I made a point of hunting one down right after you first posted it. It's a cool piece.
Can you post it, so we can read what the ad says?
