Title: Rear leaf spring color
Post by: Tims69SE on February 16, 2019, 12:25:06 PM
This will be my first post.  I am new to the forum but not new to the Mopar world.  I purchased my 69 SE Charger in 1983 and was fortunate enough to find an all original, numbers matching, big block, four speed car.  The car was a western state car and still had the 1973 Arizona plates on it.  After owning the car for 36 years, it was to for the restoration.  I am in the middle of the restoration now, the body is at a restoration shop in Connecticut for body and paint, I am left with restoring all the parts.

One of my biggest challenges is the correct color of the parts.  I am getting ready to rebuild the rear leaf springs and need the correct color of the leafs, rear shackles and front mounting brackets.  I have seen some black and also dull silver???

Welcome to the board.

The link below has some information, rear springs are near the bottom:

I have seen brand new cars of that era with rusty springs and some painted.
