Title: Carb rebuild
Post by: duckmanreno on December 10, 2018, 02:14:39 PM
Opinion on rebuild or replace.  Charger with 383 has the original  Carter AVS .
Been sitting long time.  Have it rebuilt or replace. Is it cost effective to have it rebuilt. I appreciate the input

My vote would be that if you like the way it operated (which I assume will be yes) then go ahead and rebuild.

You can also probably find someone else to do it, but I would use it as an opportunity to learn.  You also are pretty sure it is metered correctly for your car.

I am also assuming there is a high quality rebuild kit for Carter carburetors and someone here who can guide you to it.

I purchased the kit and a few pieces of hardware for my AVS from Carbjunkys in Ga. They also replated the linkage and levers. Great people to deal with.  Jim is the AVS expert.
