Title: Superbird at hot august nights
Post by: pandamarie on August 10, 2009, 12:57:30 PM
This is the first wing car I have seen at HAN in 6 years and the only one I have seen crusing in at least 10 years. Behind it is a nice R/T and one of my favorite cars up there this year was the Hemi Honker. Never did see who owned it or got to hear it run. maybe next year.

Its the first full week of August every year in Reno,Nv. they have over 6000 pre 73 cars show up every year. The last few years there has been a lot more mopars showing up. Saw a nice little 26 Dodge coupe but the lazy ass put a chevy in it so I didnt take any pics of it. Lots of nice A bodies and B bodies, not many E bodies this year. I cant wait until my Daytona clone is done so I can take it up there.

I thought that it was almost impossible to get into that show. I heard that they limit the number of entries.
We wanted to go there but I guess we'll do the Cruisin the Coast thing instead.

Hot August Nights Reno has a waiting list of at least 2 years. I hope to get in by 2011, but I'm told that it could go to 12 or 13. And parking for trailers is miles from the action. 6000 official entrants and maybe 6000 more who just show up. Hundreds of activities and events for the official entrants. Yet absolutely everyone says it is still worth the wait. I've met dozens of attendees who say that for all the crowds it remains the greatest show anywhere.

Also, it is now a full 10 days of events and nearly all of it free. Well, I don't know about the women.  :icon_smile_question:

Wow, this is cool. My son was surfing this site tonight and found my car posted. HAN was sure fun. We had a blast cruising the Bird. It got alot of attention.  This was the first time that my buddy rode in the car. After the night was done, he said to me. "I would swear that there is a Naked Lady on the roof from all the attention this thing gets"

Thanks for posting my car. My kids think they are famous.

I was there 6 years ago with my black bird and people went nuts when they saw it but I had the small crank pully problem and was overheating  so I only stayed a day and left.  I have lotsa video of the car shows .I parked in the non car show area .  It hailed and rained like hell the day before official opening maybe someone remembers it. it was thunder lightening storms and hail the size of large peas. weird. a friend of mine sold a lime bird with a hemi in it  a couple hunderd miles from remo maybe thats it.
