Anyone ever hear of a drag car campaigned under the name "UFO"? It's a 68 or 69 Charger and I saw it on a dvd somebody loaned me of old 8mm footage from Windsor Dragway years ago. It looks from the clip as though it could be a flopper but I'm not certain of that. I tried Google and turned up nothing. I also tried grabbing a screen shot but I can't seem to master that skill in even the slightest of ways.
Yup, Have a magazine feature with it as well.
Same lettering but different body; or at least a different front end. The one in the clip doesn't have the nosecone. Anyway, who campaigned that car?
How's this?
I think same car just different time line.
Not sure, it defintiely has the lettering seen in your other pics. Damnit I wish I could figure out how to work this stupid screenshot thing. :brickwall:
Run by the Tignanelli Bros.

I don't think the car had that name until the Daytona nose was added.
:scope: intresting charger ...chassis looks more like some kind of dune buggy :scratchchin:
Brian (UFO) has all the cool stuff

If I could grab a frame and post it I cold quickly change your mind about that. The B&W article looks to be the congfiguration in this video and with Detroit being across the river from Windsor it makes sense that they'd run the car there.
Ghoste your correct the name is on the car before the nose cone deal.I am sure I have a b+w story on the car with just the name-no striping or other decals-kinda looks like gelcoat.Probably during the cars build up.
I have seen pics of this car PRE nose cone and it defiitely was letterdd UFO. In that HOT ROD magazine hemi special they did summmer of 2007 they had a shot of this car in it too, on the grille ( psuedo grille) it said something about the "U.S. Air Farce"
I have thought a recreation of this would be cool , though i hear this car is being re-stored right now by somebody.
I think Landys charger was neater though, and I think Gene Snow ran one too.

Looks like they used the "ufo" name before the charger flopper.
Interesting that the car's body retains true stock dimensions. Most 2nd-gen Charger floppers are the heavily distorted ones.
