Title: hard starting
Post by: 69Coronet on April 19, 2007, 08:25:21 PM
My engine has a very hard time starting when its warm and you let it sit for awhile.  It will just barely turn over. Does anyone know why it does this?

the engine will just barely turn over. It sounds like the battery is dead.  When the engines cold it starts just fine

still think timming... and/or flooded (sp?) carb.

Probably if you change batt, will spin faster on both cases but will keep same speed difference on both circunstances

battery is only 3 days old.  Engine spins fine when its cold.  and it fires right up with a couple pumps of the pedal.  Its not flooding and the timing is correct

If the bushing in the end plate is worn out, it will allow the armature to drag inside the housing.
