Title: Painting underside of hood.
Post by: 73chgrSE on December 09, 2019, 02:15:24 PM
I have seen a lot of old cars with the underside of the hood painted flat black and I like the look. Mine is currently white but looks ratty from age. Are there any issues with heat if painted black? I'd like to hear your thoughts.

I would do it if you will like it.  It is your car and not something that cannot be undone later.

You may get someone sometime in the future telling you it should be white, but you already know that and are doing it because you have a preference.

Darker color = less light getting bounced into the engine bay = harder to see in the engine bay.
