Wow. I remember those. They were pretty fun, actually. I had a Smash Up Derby set, along with a dark red Superbird, that I took the rubber nose off, and cut off the wing (I was trying to make it look like the neighbors Road Runner). :o

Congrats on best design!! :2thumbs: That's something he'll always remember. I know how competitive it is. My boy was in it for 5 years and some of the parents get crazy over it! :rotz: I was glad when he moved to boy scouts and we were done with that! :2thumbs:
just saw a pink one listed on ebay (not mine). it's missing the windshield, but one of the tougher colors to find. item # 400202428966
does anyone have an orange one?
I need orange
i need an orange one to have all six colors. the only one ive ever seen was on ebay several years ago, and i missed out on it by a LOT. at this point, id almost be satisified to see a good picture of one. that color seems to be the rarest in any ssp.
so what are the 6 colors?
pink
lime
red/maroon
petty blue
purple
orange
i thought someone mentioned black?
Here is another commercial http://youtu.be/S4qvUX4SB18
Justin
"CornDog"

Excellent - I had the smashup set and the BLUE Superbird. They all got quite a bit of use. I bet it would be near impossible to find a complete set of the smashups without any missing parts. Man, those were a lot of fun.
Ive heard of a black SSP.Think it was a Canadian edition
hi dave,
i have the 6 colors, but not black
have you ever seen a black version?
or just heard of it?
just when i thought i had all of them, lol
i've been religiously collecting wing car toys for twenty-five years, and this is the first mention of a black version i've ever seen.
i pray that black ones do not exist, since i already cannot afford any of the orange ones that i've seen. i'd hate to even fathom the cost of an even rarer color.
a black ssp might rate up there, along with a clear glass avon bottle, as the holy grail for wing car toys.
i'm still looking for the wealthy individual that wants to build an instant wing car toy shrine. i'd trade my entire collection for repro front sheet metal on the 1:1
Never seen one but recall Jim Radke either selling one or looking for one in a newsletter.I got his email try him
