Title: What the heck are these things?
Post by: Vegas_Nick on January 14, 2017, 07:57:30 PM
First one is a "vacuum amplifier". It was mounted on the back of the motor near the coil. Connected to a solenoid of some kind but it didn't go anywhere. Vacuum lines were all disconnected. What was it?

Second is this box next to the voltage regulator?

And yeah that is a scotch lock tapped into the regulator wiring. That is coming out any way.

Ok, so I found the vacuum amp and solenoid were part of the old EGR system which was disconnected on this car.

Now for the mystery box on the firewall.

I found it. It's the time delay module for the EGR vacuum control.
