Title: C500 sold
Post by: moparchris on August 14, 2017, 10:11:04 PM
Well.... I guess the time comes for all good things to end.  After owning 68-69 Chargers pretty much since 1978 I will no longer be "in the club".  My 500 is heading East to Florida shortly.  It has been literally a gut wrenching experience to sell the car.  I have not cried so much in years, but time and priorities have finally caught up with me I guess.  Being concerned with income and funds for post work life and affording things like health insurance between retirement and medicare and the fact that basically I hate to work conspired to convince me that the time was getting right to move on to the next chapter.
As a re-cap I've had an amazing run for somebody who has never made a lot of money.  I had my 1st Hemi Charger ( 68 R/T, Burgundy 4 speed in 1978 and never really stopped.  I had a 440 4 speed Daytona for 12 wonderful years, 2 additional 68 Hemi Charger R/t's (1 auto, 1 4 speed) a 67 Hemi Charger, 69 Hemi Road Runner (A4 silver 4 speed) a 440 auto Charger 500, 4 440-6 pack cars ( 1 69 RR, 2 70 Super Bee's, 1 Cuda) 2 Challenger T/A's and a few 440 Charger R/T's.
For the foreseeable future I am going to try and hold onto my last old Mopar, a 1970 Coronte R/T 440 4 speed car so I can drive that to work for the short time I will remain working, and then see where life takes me and my wife.
It has been a wonderful ride and I hope all of you guys continue to prosper and enjoy the cars for as long as you can.  I will NEVER stop loving these cars to the bottom of my heart.  I will not be on this site anymore since I feel that this is a spot for the owners and not really for groupies of which I guess I am now.
Carry on gentlemen and keep those Chargers and Superbirds rolling.
Best of luck in the future.
Chris

Wow--Life does move us forward.
I have sold several of my car projects recently due to my aging/changing but expect to always enjoy them.
Sorry to hear you are moving away from this place. Please check in from time to time. Many of us are very near where you are and can use the conversation about it.

Best of luck to you, but stick around, there's no ownership requirement to be a member.

And, how about a few pics of that '70 Coronet R/T?  I love those cars...

Well done Chris!

You have done the right thing I'm sure.
You have inspired me to sell/swap my F8 440 4-speed C500 too. :2thumbs:
Don't have the money or premises to restore a B-body, so its time for her to go too... :iagree:

No harm in letting other Folks having their piece of Mopar history as well.
No bottom spanking ZONE here :spank: :spank: :spank:
