Title: EFI Use...
Post by: csx4590 on June 24, 2017, 07:24:01 AM
Has anybody on here put one of the EFI kits on their car? My only concerns are using an electric fuel pump and the O2 sensor. Can you use a mechanical pump or not? And I hate like hell to cut into my brand new exhaust to add an O2 sensor. Was it worth the effort? Thanks...

Its only a couple of small holes in the exhaust (or sometimes even just one....not that's the best idea on a V engine!) to weld in the threaded bungs for the O2 sensors. So that's only two small holes to weld up if you want to go back to carbs....which you wont!

I have been adding O2 bungs to all my cars to run a wideband O2 for tuning. The hardest part sometimes is finding a location you can reach! The O2 sensor need to be angled upwards to avoid trapping moisture. Also, I only have 1 sensor and 5 cars that it goes on. I purchased some threaded "plugs" to install when the sensor comes out. It's not complicated.

But any way, there are threads here covering the Holley Sniper, Fitech, and Megasquirt EFI systems.
