might want to give the vin numbers stamped on the body a close look if your interested in this body shell,
its definatly a 70 charger,
advet says 69 title , might just be something as simple as a typo in the advert or ......
there are more pictures in the link but saved & shown here where you can clearly see a 70 charger body

That does look 1970 in many parts of it.
The rear side markers are '70. The right rear frame rail has that oval hole for the EVAP hoses that CA '70 models used.
The front sway bar and LCAs are '70 as well.
70 steering column with a place for the key
I kind of think they just called it a 69 because of the hood and fender by mistake
I would bet the ownership still says 1970 and they just did not look close enough at the paper work
The ad says clear title but does not say clear 1969 title
The color under that yellow paint looks like FK 5, Burnt Orange metallic, a color that came out in 1970 model cars.
:iagree: what the other Guys say :yesnod: :coolgleamA: :2thumbs:
anyone reading this new to chargers & or thinking about buying a second generation , this might be usfull , as well as whats mentioned above , shown in the pictures....
it has 1970 trunk floor
1970 firewall
1970 rear seatbelt mounting locations
1970 charger only factory under coat spray pattern, front edge of inner fender would not ever
be covered with factory undercoat on a 68 & 69
What makes a 1970 trunk floor and firewall different from the others?
It is a Base model 70 Charger XH29 FY1 (Top Banana) hardtop with a 318 automatic. 1 of 365 FY1 XH29 V8 built.

see pictures below , ( ive lost all my detailed pictures showing the differances etc)
where there or i have found slight running changes & or differnet suppliers / metal stamping that dont really amount to much , these are main differances between 69 & 70 below,
the firewall hole is larger for the vacuum lines on a 68 /69 & sure there is an extra dimple in the fire wall on a 70, located up by the voltage regulator area, could be a Ac firewall though cant be 100% i forget like i said ive lost all my referance picures of original cars.
main differance in the trunk floors , is the rear behind spare wheel , the two large plugs are just inside of the rear frame rail on 68s & 69s , on a 70 they are located more towards above the rear shock absorber upper attaching bolt/ nut , also trunk floor ga s tank cross brace on 68 /69 is differant on a 70 only , there was/ is a thread some time ago with the part numbers of the gas tank loacation rubber blocks

Thanks, Tan Top.
I forgot about the firewall vacuum hose routing. I've only owned two '70 Chargers so I forgot about the 68-69 differences, Regarding the trunk floor, I replaced the floor in my "Jigsaw" '70 Charger a couple of years ago and noticed that the AMD panel did have those holes above the axle hump in a different spot than my car had...

Trunk 32.jpg
I figured it may have just been a stamping error on their part, as if installers wouldn't care.

i never realised till quite recently ( 3 or 4 years back ) about the hole location on the 70 trunk floor was different to a 69 ,( No offence 70 Charger guys  never paid that close enough attention to the 70 like i do to the 69 model & was only after scrutinising a 69 R/T SE forsale , uncovered it had 70 body swap ::) & noticed the trunk floor plug location along with all the other differances clearly was a 70 body that someone attempted to make it look like a 69 body shell.
i think some of the small variations were infact down to the metal stamping plant supplier & or what assembly line got what parts & or small alterations during the model year, example the extra floor pan plug each side , to block a hole , the factory found an air pocket would develope when dipping so no primer would be in that area , stamp a hole each side problem solved , this started from about early marchish time 69 E series model year , so in theroy all 70 modles should have the extra holes , but did have saved documented photos of an unrestored 70 XH29 assembled january 70 with out the holes :-\ also there is a white 69 Daytona with supposadly original floor with out holes ? every daytona ive seen with original floors had the extra holes :shruggy:

I just got a notification the ebay auction is ending soon
I see it has 1 hour 45 minutes to go and there are no bids with the opening price $8000 and reserve not met
Guess whoever bid originally has changed their mind and detracted their bid
In 70 the 4 bolts that bolt the transmission cross member in are thinner than 1969. :Twocents: WINGNUT
Thanks tan top...and I thought I knew everything!
surprised no bids, not really I think opening bid is to hi but I've seen people bid more on worse cars. I guess the No Reserve Scared People off. Who knows reserve could of been a ridiculous $50k :shruggy: :slap:
I see this car is now listed for sale on FB as a 1970 Charger
