Title: Rear leaf spring hangers coming down at an angle...70ChargerRT
Post by: Blakcharger440 on August 28, 2005, 09:39:52 AM
I am installing my leaf springs on a 70 Charger RT and right now I am installing them without the rearend (Dana)
I have one of the rear leaf springs mounted and the rear hangers are coming down at an angle...is this OK since I do not have the weight of the Dana on them right now.....or have I mounted something wrong?

Without the weight of the rearend on it my rear leaf hangers are coming down at an angle....is this OK???

Will they straighten out once I get the weight of the Dana on there???

the springs will lengthen as they are flattened by the weight of the car on the springs , adding the dana changes nothing as it is unsprung weight

I'd have to check, but I think the MP chassis book calls for them to be at an slight angle anyway.
