Anyone run a 255 70 15 on the rear of a 68-70?
I planned on running 275 60 15s on 8.5 wide rim with 4 inch back spacing.Thinking i was still geared 3.23.ends up im 3.91 so a taller tire would help bring down the rpm.
The 255 70 is 29 inchs vs 28 for the 275 60.
Anyone have any pics? Will they fit?

A 29 inch tire vs 28 inch tire, and 3.91 gears, the mph difference at 3000 rpm is 2 mph. Not enough to make any real difference.
I have never run a 255/70/15, but they will fit anywhere a 275/60/15 will.
I run 275 & 235. It had 255 all the way around when I purchased it.
8" or 8.5" on rear, crs.
I wanted 295 but didn't like the shorter height vs. 275. In my research, the 275 give me the most of what I wanted, some width & height.
I can get a finger between the outer well & tire. Still struggling with posting pix...
Im not concerned with the height running a GV OD.
