what do you want to mean exactly ? functions of every fuse ?

I have two but both are numerated instead funbction labeled. This pic was from an auction

Go here for the diagram for all connections- fuse block only states the main fuse- but some other acc. are tied in as well

deputy... what the hell is this speed control ?. This stuff is what Da'Chargerguy ( pete ) has on his 72SE and we were wondering long time ago. I found also a C body diagram with that.

bill as stated I have two harnesses, one standart cluster and one Rallye cluster, and both are labeled with numbers instead labeled with functions. I can check the Owner's manual, but from 74. Anyway I don't think fuses function changes throught the years. Weird is that 71 labels doesn't match with your 71.

pic I posted is from E body auction I think.

Let me go down to parking and check on my car for owner's manual.

from top to bottom left column:

1  -  20 amp... Brk warning lt., W/lift safety relay, Interlock control, Deck lid rel. sol. & following Std cluster items... Oil pres lt, V/limiter, fual and temp gauge.
2  -  20 amp... Clock feed ( std cluster ), Horn ( Dual ), Horn relay & key in buzzer, Seat belt lt and buzzer.
3  -  20 amp... Stop, Trunk, Dome & aft Dome lis & hazzard flasher.
4  -  20 amp... Open dr indic ( taxi ) Ign., Map, Tail, Lic., S/Mrk., G/box & park. lits.; Inst. lts. ( also, Cavity 5 ), lighter, Ign. Sw. Lt. Time delay relay

From top to bottom, right column:

5  -  5 amp... Cluster gear sel., Ash Rec. Radio Htr. or A/C cont & acc. sw. lts
6  -  20 amp... Rr Defog., A/C clutch, Speed cont & the following Rallye cluster items: Fuel, Oil & temp gauges, Tach. Feed & V/limiter.
7  -  20 amp... Htr or A/C blower motor.
8  -  20 amp... B/up & rev gear indic lits., T/signal & radio

this is letter by letter what owners manual says. Of course interlock and some other items are not part of 72 fuse box but rest are the same

Hey Natcho- never seen that one- or realized it there- my 72 manual shows it- like yours for a auto and manual. back of my manual for 72 for emissions is torn/missing- but here is my take on it.

when the car is started and running at idle- the vac to the dist. is off- the soleniod is closed thus no advance.

once the car is drving and at a certian speed ( anybody can pipe in as my manual is missinh ) the speed sensor thens grounds out the relay ( control assembly ) and turns on the solenoid valve open allowing the advance to work.

this is a emissions control to prevent and spark advance until up to speed- bet it is around 40 miles/hr.

as I stated, don't have 72 fuse box, but I have 71 and 73.

71 one is not easy to read and doesn't have clearly labeled every wire at a side of fuse box, but tracking down the wires, you can see the function labeled along the line/wire. I tried to cut diagram just up were is labeled

73 is more clear about. I think your 72 is closer to 73 than 71.
