Any idea regarding WIW? If the price is right I would find a place for it...
Over 100k....how much over.....?
It is worth that for sure - looks pretty solid. And it has the hand-shaker option!

Some really nice cars... at times in the 120+ for sale these recent economic times. All these Daytonas I hate to admit it they are starting to blur together in my head on the common color cars, is it just me. Looks nice, I like it, it seems to have some stuff looming in some tough spots back on the plug deck lid area possibly driving a full resto for some. I need to talk to the wife :smilielol: :smilielol: about just one more (this one, I'd drive it and be happy) :smilielol: :smilielol:
So..... compared to the V2 orange car now on ebay which is "worth more"? Does the history of the V2 impact the values somehow that I do not recognize if clean title is provided (and you leave with everything)? At whatever stated value, I would much rather have this mostly original old one :shruggy:.
"Worth" and ability to sell seems quite wide....or finding a buyer for these seems to be for the sharks in the market........... or the elephant in the room, for some an investment car holding out for a market return, good luck. :scratchchin: (and I still dreaming of one too).
I am guessing that since it is listed on eBay now that the owner was not that interested in my offers.

not sure.. My buddy here in Houston was confused too that it was listed............. :shruggy:
I have never understood all these multiple bids with 5-6 days left. These people are woodchucks. Don't they understand they are driving the thing higher ....just to be the high bidder for 3 minutes? Maxwell shaking head

Dave the car has not changed hands since very early in the 80's and it did not come from NH.
This is the first the car has been advertised, been trying to do a deal on car for about 4 months now.

[/quote] WINDOW STICKER AND SHIPLIST SAY NH???? Gotta find the ad ..It was something Rochester NH Hartley plumbing contractor business card with 69 daytona for sale info I wrote on back of his business card
383265 283 nh Chase & Avery Newport, NH 8/28/1969
that cobbled together "window sticker" isn't worth the cost of the paper it's reprinted on, with the s/o number not matching the fender tag, is it?..
If the bidding doesn't pick up quite a bit it will fall well short of 100K. Then again if it doesn't pick up then mabye I'm back in the game and he will take my last offer. :2thumbs:

I was hoping more for the door to swing so dar open that it falls off the hinges.
70 seems like a cheap price for the car...how much less could you offer?
Well I could be cheap and offer less than that, but lets just say that my standing offer was more than was bid on ebay.

Why would you offer less? 70 was bid not really seeing or knowing the car other than the pictures. Usually a car will sell for more after the auction ends, not many people will commit full dollars in the short time of an auction without first trying to get their finances in order and a better understanding of said car.
I was very interested and I guess I called a day late as it appears it already sold and for more than the auction results, but a lot less than the original estimates. Was a combination of things for me, and with the slumping local economy, guess things work out for a reason.
I would really like to see some underneath and trunk pics, but the car appears to be very solid. Car might be a benchmark to adjust pricing on Daytona's, who knows as they made so few, but some of the non selling ones might have to do a market adjust.
Rick.
I know someone laid $75,000 down on his table and he didn't take it......... Has decided to "rethink" selling it now........
I heard the same info that Jim did and that it is going overseas. Would have looked much better in my garage though. Then again I might be biased. Guess it just was not meant to be for me to get that one.

New owner is from New Zealand, but he also has some roots here now too. Car will be a nice addition to his Aero Fords. Sounds like he's getting it set up to drive.
If anyone knows the actual sale amount. And is willing to give out said info. I would like to know if at all possibile. PM would be preferred
I can't blame him for not selling at 70k. I could morgage my house and still have money left over for the divorce at 70K

The car looks fantastic, what are the plans for her? I remember going to that drag strip with my old man as a kid and seeing a 70 440-6 convertible Challenger and a bunch of other cool B/E bodies. Look forward to seeing more updates!

Tim, its not mine, but yeah Congrats for the new owner I agree , nice guy too . I thinks he just plans to drive it, looks great out there. Pictures were at Meremere dragway for our club drag day , no - he didnt drag the Daytona , just happy driving it down there
Whats up with the liscense plate mounting?? Great looking Daytona I really like the wheels!
I agree, I am sorry I didn't pursue it at the time it was for sale but it just wasn't in the cards at the time.
Great looking Daytona :2thumbs:
I am glad to hear it has a good home.

great looking car.
But why do people install huge 15" Ford wheels while it had nice original 14" wheels with F70-14s on it

Its just a temporary plate hanging in its bag out of the trunk until it gets registered, allows it to be driven legally
15 x 10 on the rear with 295/50/15, the same as mine, I reckon they are grouse :icon_smile_big:
