Title: Daytona clone guys...question regarding plug install?
Post by: wetfeetmi on January 30, 2006, 05:35:11 PM
I cut my Vega hatch today, but need to know exactly how far beneath the tunnel top edge to locate Vega hatch. In othe words, what is the width of filler piece above hatch and below tunnel?
I finished fabbing the abbreviated trunk lid today. I just have to finish fill and sand it and drill for hinges.
100% of this is from original lid. I sectioned it and grafted the original back section back together with the front. That way I didn't have to construct a new cap piece and it turned out OK. I had to slit and remove  and hammer together the leading edge to get the radius correct. The original was radiused exactly opposite of the Daytona/500 lid. It took about 10 hrs. all told. Rick

Nascarxx29, Which parts did I get from you? My memory is fading due to impending maturity! I think the parts I bought from you went on my first clone. I sold that car 2 years ago to John in VA. My current car is coming along fine. I have all the parts, just not emough time. How are you? Are you in NJ? or Atlanta? Rick
