Title: Which fastener for my vinyl top trim
Post by: green69rt on August 11, 2019, 04:52:38 PM
The stainless trim that goes around the sail panel vinyl has screws that go into the trunk area.  Which nuts are used inside the trunk.  My car was apart when I go it so don't have a clue

I found a 8 32 hex nut that works or PAL nuts (both in the picture.)  So what's correct?  The screw is a 8 32 machine bolt.

Hi Mitch
I will probably ask you the same question when I get to putting on my trim.
Getting close.
I bought my car new and took it apart myself 5-10 years ago.
So I have no excuses!

I think I'm going with the PAL nuts.  I can put sealer in the cups of the nuts plus I can't get as much torque on the PAL nuts before they strip.  A lot of torque with the machined hex nuts might distort the outside sheet metal.
