Title: WOW & OUCH Mangled Superbird on facebook
Post by: nascarxx29 on September 16, 2013, 11:47:43 AM
Benoit Lavigne Just heading ut for work one morning, getting cut off by a truck and ending up in a ditch, breaking the side window with his forehead... He had had the car for 15 years by then and had it redone a couple years before, so they decided to save it instead of scrapping it, which would have probably happened if it had happened in the 70's... The car was saved by a regular body shop, not a resto shop, with little info available then, so it is far from a 100-point car, but it is a great driver (440-4, buckets, 4-speed). That is why the owner was glad to see another Bird to compare dimensions, etc... It is a 180-mile drive from his place to the nearest major center, and last Summer was the first time he had it out that far since buying it in 78, and I saw it for the first time. When I managed to get the owner of the green car to come to our show, he decided to make the trek again!
