Title: 1968 Hemi Charger Title for Sale on eBay
Post by: Birdflu on July 22, 2020, 10:37:04 AM
Lot of cake for some wall art! I hope Barry can get the full VIN so another '68 Hemi R/T doesn't just appear. Could also be title for a car that still exists?

I had contacted and asked if it's a whole car or just paperwork.  I imagine it's a car since the explanation says that he will send pics to serious buyers.

I can't imagine he means sending additional pics of the title.  We can already see both sides of it.

Interesting. In Indiana (where I live) the title must be signed on the back to transfer. There is no transfer info here which leads me to think the car was originally totalled back in the day. It could have been stolen. It could have had a new title applied for claiming the original (this one) was lost, but the 1st inclination is that the car was never sold or given away after new.

Also this title was applied for on 9/12/70 for a 1968 model car, so it is highly unlikely, as popular as the 68 Chargers were, that this car was bought new. The guy is asking $10,000 for a title that is NOT for a new car in my opinion. Just an interesting piece of paper-I would buy him a cup of coffee in return for it.

Genuine. clean TITLE for a 68 Dodge Charger R/T 426 Hemi 4 speed Hemi car  The title in capitol letters leads me to believe also that it is a title.

The listing has a picture (one picture) of a Burgundy (like mine!) car covered with stuff.  Made a real effort there.  Listing also mentions NO ENGINE several times.  Does that mean the 18 spline four speed is still there?  I think he's taking the "as found" thing a little too seriously.  Clean it off, take some more pictures, get the bidding to go crazy.

I have requested pictures of the car and no response from seller. I know two other people that have asked the seller for pictures and no response. Makes you wonder if there is a car for sale. Currently the bid is $35,100. A lot of money for a car you can't see.  :o

I tried too....both times it was listed.

I think the best thing to do is to win the car in bidding.  Then you can find out what it actually is.  If it is no good then you just don't pay.  There is not really even a slap on the wrist from Ebay...

And who is going to feel bad for someone who made no effort and didn't reply to anyone?
