Bought the 426 Hemi that was in Canada that came out of the 69 Daytona with the missing body.. which they say was lost in a garage fire. We had the cross member altered factory correct for the hemi. The original 440 is a warranty motor from 70, we are going to one day rebuild it, keep it as a part of the car.
Through Jim at Vintage Metal, who does work on projects for Tim Petty at Moonshine Racing in North Carolina, Jim took the motor to him and he was willing to rebuilt it. As a Petty would he did an excellent job. It produced 497hp and 575 torque on the dyno, not bad for stock. Tim and Maurice Petty signed the dyno sheets, very nice of them.

From what I was told, original Daytona body was destroyed years ago. Trust me, it was wanted and searched for. Hemi from a actual Daytona was as close as we could get.

Oh, so you have it..... Looks great..... Hemi is always a good alternative to the original motor. :-) That's what I did.... :2thumbs:

I initially thought that 414639 was the hemi Daytona driven by Jacques Duval, but that was 414638.
So here is what I found for 414639, post by 427copoz which corresponds with this Daytona being lost to a fire:

although similar to a "187" C-body pan - I'd guess that's not one :Twocents:

Beautiful Daytona!
What is the asking price?
I like green myself but the non primered underbody gives me the heebie jeebies lol.
When did the hemi K member change in 1969 or 70???

Not sure I understand the question? The k-member, with skid plate, is pretty much the same except the location of the sway bar bushing attach points...

1969 is the last year for the "squared-off" skid plate on the K-frame

Deal HAD been reached. 2 other cars and a little check. However, it has been awhile, and no $$ has shown up yet. And as we all know, money talks. Therefore, the car is still available. Price is negotiable.
Turned out nicely
Is this car still available?
Believe it has been recently sold.
I wish it was still for sale. I love it.
