Can someone tell me what's up with the nose? What is the plastic or plexiglass thing in place of the drivers headlight?
How much did it sell for??
A screen mesh cover that kept large chunks of track debris from getting sucked into the ductwork. This is a NASCAR nose, not a street nose.
it was a regular 70 charger 500 wasn't it? not a 69? maybe I'm reading it wrong...
This is an original Charger 500 with the Nascar back glass. .Is how its described. In order to have the flush back window. It had to be a 69 500 or daytona .A 70 charger 500 doesnt have a flush back glass. And they didnt mention using a aftermarket window plug??
It would have been like this at one time. Before becoming a daytona

Do you happen to know any info on the red 500 in the pic you just attached?
Where it is now? Who owns it?

:iagree:
I bought that print in '90 with a bunch of other Mopar posters. It is still hanging in my Folks garage along with my Led Zeppelin, Rush and hot chick posters.
One of my faves also.
I think there is something wrong with rear plug in glass... maybe a Vega plug in ?... it looks some outwards curved... more than I think really is. I never have seen a second gen in person, of course neither a 500/daytona, but I'm talking about what I have seen on internet
The rear glass is too wide to be a stock aero car plug.... i think the sides wrap around a little bit more... i'll check when i get home tonight :icon_smile_big:
It has a complete '70 Charger interior so I really doubt it is a '69 500 converted over.

You are right, I saw that car at the Winged Warriors meet at Pigeon Forge TN. a few years ago and the owner told me it was a 1970, 500 that the previous owner had done up for one of the power tours on the east coast. At that time it was a 440-4BBL engine that needed some upgrades and he said that the rear window is out of a Vega. The pink Marty Robbins Daytona did have a rear window out of a 69-500,this one doesn't. When I saw the car it didn't have a fuel cell in it.I can't remember for sure but I think the owner said there were Fisher Plow lights on it. At the time the car was in North Carolina.

So I was right... now we know how looks and how different is... it looks good anyway, but we know now side by side the difference.
Anyway I don't like winged or 500s... I love the recesed window, and grilles :D
I will admit that I like the regular 68-70 Charger style more than the 500 but I like purpose built aero cars in general.
This 69 500 maybe still Charles Chesires of Garland TX.I not sure of its whereabouts currently .I do have the serial number
I believe that is a 1970 Charger 500 cloned into a Daytona.
As far as the other car pictured I also think it is Charlies car still to this day.
