Post by: 73rallye440magnum on August 14, 2022, 02:14:10 PM
Hello Charger community-

Looking for 68-71 B body, 70-71 E body.
Prefer 4 speed. Will absolutely consider auto.
Trailer queens are out of my league.
I am in southern Colorado.
Needing some work or detailing is fine, just no full blown projects.

Not to be a Debbie downer or anything but you may have to up your budget. I've seen basket cases go for 30k. If you want something driveable and needing just a littl work you may be in the 50-60 range. Good luck in your search. The prices of these cars have gone stupid lately.

Appreciate your thoughts. I'd appreciate feedback from any and all on what I share below.

I made a really good offer on a 72 Challenger after two thorough inspections. 440 six pack with 4 speed and 8-3/4. Good car but engine not running due to center carb gas vomiting. Chassis squeaky clean, same for interior, vinyl top showing age.

I was contacted by owner of a 340 console auto w AC 73 Cuda. No rust ever, turn key, needs some tinkering but drive it home per owner. I have not inspected this car yet, next up if below doesn't pan out. Did a dentist design the bumper pads on these models?

I inspected and drove a 71 4 speed bench Bee. Very good paint. A few small dings and bruises. Needs carpet and headliner and some other interior soft parts, along with some wiring cobbles addressed. Previous rust repair in very bottom of rear quarters, no signs of failure. Aftermarket 18" wheels. Not for me but to each their own. Recently rebuilt top end, numbers matching, OE appearing engine compartment. Chassis of not detailed driver quality.

Interestingly all three of these cars are orange with black interior and an ask price of 35k.

73-74 B/E Bodies are pretty cheap.  Non are considered very valuable. The EPA really killed our hobby back then. :Twocents:
