Can some one give me the measurements for the holes for the the stainless vinyl top trim pieces, I already have the holes for the checkmarks, need to drill the others. I need to know... how many, how far apart, and the diameter of the holes (for mounting clips).
Thanks, Jason
Darn...if it was a '72 I could have helped :rotz:
If it's not an entirely O.E. resto then I wouldn't drill the holes at all. Those holes are a bitch for letting water into the trunk compartment.
I'd grind off the attachment studs (the trim is being repro'd now) and use some kind of adhesive to attach the trim to the body in the correct place.

Seal the studs from the under side of the quarter panel and no leaks. :shruggy:

I done have holes for check marks, I need to know how many, spacing and hole diameter for the 2 long stainless pieces where roof meets quarter.

Jason,
My car had no vinylroof so I drilled the holes using the moldings, a set of clips and a picture. Diameter of the holes is 0,2".
If you need the distances between the holes let me know.

jaak,
good timing for your request, the car that I am doing right now is having the vinyl top removed, and am now in the process of welding up the holes.I installed the check moldings and side stainless moldings to trace the side pieces for the exact location for future as the owner might someday want to put back on.I used some not so nice trim pieces to drill for the future templates and took pics and measurements for that later date of drilling locations. The holes (5) are all 1/4''.Install your check molding, slide the stainless onto the check molding, and at the front measure off the very edge of the 1/4 panel 5 1/4'' inches to the molding. The picture will be self explanatory. The first hole is 1 1/2'' from the edge of the window opening, again see pic, then the next one is 8 1/2'',next three are all 8 3/4'' apart .
And for an FYI,I know you say you have them drilled already, the check molding holes has two different size holes, the one closest to the back window and the middle one are both 5/16'' holes and the one right near the actuall check is 1/4".Hope this helps.
here are the hole size and locations for the check moldings....
wow, that car is so clean. :2thumbs:

Hi. I need to drill holes in my 1974 charger hardtop to install the half top vinyl moulding trim.
Two questions:
1 - the schematics out instructions? Please!
2 - where can I find the half top moulding trim for 1973-1974 Charger to buy??
Thanks a lot
No new moldings available for 3rd gens vinyl tops except for the rear "checkmark" pot metal molding, which you won't use on the canopy roof. Rest just used.
