This is a stupid question but how do you replace the front side marker light bulb on a 70 Charger? I don't want to break the wires by yanking at them. Ask first.
Probably the same as a '70 Coronet, you have to remove the retainer bracket on the back, take the assembly out and the lense screws are on the back side to separate housing and lens.
Thanks. I just removed them to change the bulb. Looks like I need to order new pig tail harness. It is rusty crusty in the bulb area. How can I clean them up?
Actually '70 front you insert from the lense side, bayonet type. I hope you didn't try to pull the pig tail off! if you did PM my I have a spare new one
I did not pull the pig tail. The pig tail is loose though. I took the whole housing off.
Here ya go!
Thanks for the pics. I did order a new bezel with pig tail from PG Classics. I asked them if the pig tail is installed and they said the new batch comes with them installed. I get them early next week and will see if they are installed.
Ah! that's the way to go then. on the ones I got there was no way to swedge the end of the pig tail in the housing like the factory, hence the JB Weld®
So I just got the new side marker bezels. The pig tail comes installed but the backing plate is off on the studs. Looks like I'm going to have to elongate the stud holes.
Pig tails came installed.
Ah! see how it has a flange inside the housing...that's how it should be. With the replacement there's no way to do that.
Bummer about stud match but that's how it goes with "new" parts unfortunatly
