Be interesting to see where this ends up, considering the condition and repop cone.   :shruggy:
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

Alaskan_TA

What on earth happened to that VIN tag.  :o

I was more thinking that is has that "sharp" look to the text that repop ones have....hmmm. Non original nose, motor and tranny and pos a suspect VIN tag.....It virtually is a clone!! LOL!

EDIT....actually looking at it closer I think its just the lack of paint give the tag that repro look.

Oh my HEMI Superbird window sticker the E74 Hemi is $710.60.  Which is correct? WINGNUT

If your window sticker is original Pete I would say YOURS.
However, I wouldn't be surprised if back in the day dealers increased $ for certain options...

dealers didn't add to the factory monroney sticker. their markups would be on a separate form

and.....

People that make fake window stickers can put anything they want on them.

To them it's all about the money - getting yours.  :Twocents:

that window sticker looks to "nice" to me

Bryan

Dragon Slayer

Interesting double pulley on water pump.

Redbird

It looks like a nice looking car, quite rare and desirable.

I'm curious what it looked like after sitting in a field in Virginia for 15 years, especially the underside. Potentially very humid and damp environment. The gas tank does not inspire confidence to me.

Not deal breaking, but someone might want to go over a lot of things; from the black door plugs, engine coil, grill frames, to rear window trim.

White interiors are hard. This looks like a mix of original door panels with rebop seat upholstery.

With the fiberglass cone it is almost like an assembled project that may need a steel cone, repaint and reassembly.

A FRIEND CALLED ME SAID THE CAR WAS COMING UP FOR SALE SO I CALLED THE OWNER AND ASK ABOUT THE CAR    HE TOLD ME 500K    IM OUT NEXT  :o  I DONT KNOW WHAT ITS WORTH  BUT THAT SEAMS HIGH TO ME

I'm with Redbird. Love the car but lots of questions about rust-particularly after the 15 year field trip.

Interesting double pulley on water pump.

looks like double pulley alternator as well

Bryan

Dragon Slayer

Alternator should be double pulley, though it is an aftermarket type not correct OEM.  Water pump pulley should be single.  I imagine the parts on the motor are a mismatch lot to work, not necessarily be OEM correct.

I would be shocked if it went for 250K.  All original 6 pack 4 speed bucket, console car in white with all paper and matching numbers including parts went under $130K. Unrestored one paint car.

While the VIN is a hemi nothing else really matches but an undesirable paint color.  This car really is in no mans land in my opinion.

The black door plugs may have been installed by a "Rust Proofing" outfit or by a body shop that drilled holes to remove outer panel dents from the inside. I used to "rust proof" vehicles and used similar black plugs in the holes I drilled to access the inside of doors and other mostly inaccessible closed areas of the body.

Our CD's Hemi water pump is single pulley and the alternator is double. The crank pulley is double with the front most pulley being a smaller diameter pulley, which is used for the power steering pump.

all of my B-body cars have the two door plugs in each door....those were not put there by any body shop for pulling dents or rust proofing....they are there to gain access to the vent frame attaching screws.....but they should be white to match the interior color

Hi Bryan,                           29 August 2019

Since we haven't seen the inside frame work of our car's doors in maybe 20 years, we haven't a clue as to where plugs are or their color. We were only speculating based on some experience installing plugs. Our knowledge of these cars is limited to say the least.

If we get a chance we'll try to open a door to see what our plugs look like.

your comment about them being there for rust proofing and for covering drilled holes is completely wrong....that was my point....as I said, all the cars have these plugs for getting to the vent frame mounting attachment bolts....and the plugs are supposed to be the color of the interior

go open up your service manual and you will see what I am talking about

I don't have a window sticker for a 70 but my 69 original window sticker lists the Hemi at a $648.20 option

i'm betting pete's amount is correct for a bird, that the price increased from 1969 and someone copied the wrong info

purely uneducated guess, though
