Title: 1969 daytona wing
Post by: 1RareBird on September 13, 2008, 08:46:42 PM
What is the value of an original 69 daytona wing assuming good condition?  I have an opportunity to get one but not sure of the value.  Thanks.

Thank you Nascar.  I'm extremely new to the wing car game, I just bought my superbird about a month ago and am not sure what some of these parts go for yet.  I suspected around 3000, so I guess I'm not that far off.  BTW, did you happen to get my PM?

How big could the market be for an original Daytona wing for someone to actually pay 5K for it? With all the new ones, metal and fiberglass, you'd think people would go the less expensive route (I know, its not that less expensive from what Im reading ).
I picked up a Superbird wing at the Englishtown, NJ swap meet 20 years ago for less than 200.00 and traded it for a Daytona wing a year or two later. The uprights are white and still wearing the original paint, but the paint is faded and cracked. The paint on the spoiler had been stripped and the piece primered. Im going to hold on to it for now, I would have better returns on selling the wing than in putting money into the stock market

There is a daytona wing on ebay but if you look at the upright photo it looks solid so that to me is not origional.  I would like to have had an origional but now I have a Dane wing .

How about that another wing from Englishtown N.J I had got a superbird wing there for $500.00 back some time.Same wing I sold to wayne Perkins that ended up on Stuarts superbird convertible.I had the chance to buy a daytona wing for $800.00 and a scissors jack for cheap.those were the days .I kept the guys info on the daytona wing. And around mid 80-s or early 90-s or sometime afterwards .I saw this ad in a wingcar newsletter guy wanted only a original wing for a real daytona .I forwarded this guy the number and info for the $800.00 wing.Sometime much later in the same newsletter a ad appeared for a original daytona wing this time for $5000.00 Greg Siler of Ohio had for sale
