How to straighten that backseat/speaker frame? Must been a helluva hit. :icon_smile_blackeye:
You'll have to remove sieve that used to be a quarter :yesnod:,set it up on frame rack, weld a few tabs and pull, once everything is pulled straight, cut the tabs off and clean off the welds
yeah would put it on
a frame rack ! to see whats going on
although this looks like something crushing , not so much hitting
impact , hard to say really with out more pictures :scratchchin:
look at the creases in the metal , in the door jam where the striker is , looks a down ward impact :scratchchin: although, there is big damage there done some time in the past also & different times :scratchchin:
, would check every thing looks like some dude has cut some massive corners in that repair !! once all dimensions have been checked & altered if necessary , could try working the metal in place or remove said piece , straighten & weld it back in :yesnod:
are you starting a total resto ?? ,
Any more pics of the outside of the quarter? :scratchchin:
Some body guys really should stop asking money for the work they deliver.....They even drilled holes to let the filler attach better to the panel :RantExplode:
Picture #2 . . . I couldn't quite tell what I was looking at at first! It looks like they just cut out some of the old quarter and overlapped it with a new patch. :brickwall: :eyes:
regardless if it's a bump, push, squeeze, crush, hit,it needs to be pulled out and without removing the remnants of the quarter, welding tabs you will not be able to get that kink out

:yesnod: yep that true !!all needs cutting off ,
not that it really matters as it all needs removing , but how has the outer quarter been attached :scratchchin: cant see weld through anywhere :scratchchin:
stuck the outer quarter on :scratchchin:
Thanks for the input! The patch is attached by pop rivets and bondo.Everything looks normal from outside.I was planing of doing a total resto someday, but not right now.Frame rails are solid, but some panels has to be replace of course.Car needs some mechanical work, but its drivable as is and I don't have money to do a total resto right now.

oh right i see !! well at least all the important metal to do the job is being repoped :coolgleamA: could always do a section at a time ! ie , just sort the quarter etc etc !! :scratchchin:
