I Need Some Help With Numbers on a Superbird Steering Gear Box and Pump.
I'm getting ready to rebuild the Steering gear box and Power Steering pump.
My PS cooler has a date code 1909 and 1689 This is bolted to my PS pump with date code 2469
The gear box numbers are 7109 R or B 7 2267262
I have a few other 70 model B bodies with big blocks and they all have the same number on the PS pump 2469.
The thing that is different on the cars is the PS gear box. One has 1-69 2N 2267262 the other is 1-68 4N 2267262
I have I few PS gear boxes to pick from.
Before I spend the time to rebuild one I would like to make sure I have the correct one or one that is as close as possible.

Here is the numbers off of my superbird gearbox 6orG-2267262 1-69
My Superbird (440-6bbl) box has the following numbers:
G-2267262 (casting number)
Immediately under that number is a tag with "6 30" which is the casting date (june 30, 1969)
Under that is a large 1.69
On the boss that is adjacent to the G on G-2267262 there is a stamping that is 2189. That is the assembly date of the box. (Aug 6, 1969)
There are other identifying numbers on the Valve body and the control valve.
There are 2 numbers on the pulley of my PS pump pulley
- 82668 - Vendor number
-2939 - date code Oct 20, 1969
The pump is stamped AMC (manufacturer) and what appears to be a date code 1 A 9 (maybe 1-Aug-69??)
My bird was built abt Nov 12th.
