Got it.. My 1st E-body... '70 Challenger TA
Hey gang..
Well, the time has arrived and I am officially an E-body owner... So, is there a secret E-body hand shake? It is pretty darn nice. I meet my friend Rick and Tammy who I've known for a LONG time back in my Active Duty Air Force days at Carswell AFB. I sold the black Daytona clone and bought this. With the money I had invested in the Daytona clone, the amount I sold it for and the purchase price of the TA, I have... ohhhhh, bought a TA for $6000..
I drove it on base before we loaded it...... Man, it was nice driving a 4speed again........
Now, it is home next to the other race car, the Daytona......
One the road and back at home next to the Daytona.....
Very nice Troy! You need a revolving sig for your fleet the way it changes. ;)
Really nice car Troy :2thumbs:
Great buy, but now you need some blue in the garage.
Nice car. Congrats.
:2thumbs: :2thumbs:
I've never had an e-body and would like to feel how they drive. (a bucket list for car guys is a big bucket). Was close to ordering a new challenger in 1970 but bought a 69 super bee instead. :shruggy:
That looks like a nice example and a great investment for your cost.
Very nice! same color as my 70 Challenger vert.
That's always been one of my Favorite cars after Restoring 5 of them. Always wanted one. Maybe if I sell the Charger. Congrats :2thumbs: LEON.

Congrats Troy! Looks like a nice one. I'm trying to imagine your next for sale/trade ad already lol. You're as bad as me.
:2thumbs:,need to sell the 70 Super Bee, hint, hint.
Wow, very nice!
The last time I saw a 70 R/T Challenger in the rear view mirror on my trailer, a 18 wheeler took out the driver side quarter about thirty years ago.

You'd have to ask the owner's wife.... This would be her reply..
Love the T/A's and AAR's! Don't leave it in the 'hood to get jacked like this one.
Looks nice Troy!
That is a sharp looking car indeed! Everybody needs to own an E-body just once to get it out of their system. :icon_smile_big:
Here she is all cleaned up from yesterday... That was fun..

Hey Trav... That I am it looks like..... Kim and Jacob ( my son ), have already kidded me on how long I'll have this one........ But, it will have to take a badass Charger R/T/500 WITH 4speed or Superbird project to get me away from this one... So far, it is so cool and it sounds awesome.... Love that trumpet exhaust. Reminds me of my former Lil' Red Express trucks I owned with the exhaust coming from right behind me........

Thanks.. I'm already in the process of fixing the incorrect details in the engine compartment (needs the black strap for the heater hose and misc things)..

I don't know, it just looks that way. The guy is reaching under the dash and his lookout looks pissed off and coming towards whoever is taking the picture. It's just an old pic I found on the internet.
It could be those guys parents bought them that AAR Brand new, dude stumbled into a pic, and dude in the car could be trying to untangle the shift linkage.....
Nice one Troy!!!
Always wanted a Chally meself, maybe a white VP car?
I had a real nice B5 383 4-speed 70-Cuda.
Been kicking my own butt for selling it for £4000 DOH.
We call Cuda's 'HAIRDRESSER' Cars in the UK LOL! :smilielol:
Enjoy the ride FELLA!!!
5J
awesome looking Challenger :drool5: , good stuff ABE Troy   :2thumbs:
Or the driver is telling the person sitting on the hood @ the hinge area that sitting on the hood won't take the hump out of it. ;)
In turn the person taking the pic says he can see the future & once the new hood comes in we need to save this old one since people will pay premium dollar for an original one. That's why he has the WTF look on his face.
Something like that....

Nice lookin ride Troy! Good luck with her!
T/A 's and AAR's are very cool cars !!!!! Congrats on the purchase !!! :2thumbs:
Thanks guys...
Been tinkering with her all day ( took a day of vacation ), I work like the rest of ya........
It is a VERY solid and complete car.. It has been thus far learning about the idiosyncrasies of TA's. Like, I was about to clean off the black paint on the mufflers when it was pointed out to me they are supposed to be, they were painted black.....
:2thumbs:
Went and got the safety and VIN inspection done today with hopes of getting the title transfer and classic plates assigned to the car tomorrow before AutoRama on Wed-Sunday.....
Video Jacob took today after driving it for a good amount of time....... This E-body's pretty nice I must say.....

That is what Kim and Jacob said, "Dad, how long are you going to keep this one?".......... I said, "If a Superbird, six pack '70 or another DONE XX29 car comes my way".......
 :2thumbs:
That's my 3rd favorite car, nice color also congrats on the deal.
Awesome :drool5: :drool5: :drool5:
Have fun Troy
Congrats the car looks and sounds great.
Dave
Really enjoyed the car this weekend, as well as a lot of other people..... I participated in this year's World of Wheels Autorama in Houston. I was with my local Mopar club's display. The car did the club proud. May not be perfect ( well, it isn't ), but represented the club rather well. I was also approached by a professional photographer to have it in a paying gig for photoshoots for models ( pin-up genre )... So, that's cool. Also found a die-cast in the swap meet area....
PS: Yeap, still gotta get the "special instructions" air cleaner decal....
I'm diggin' the variety of high impact colors you've got going on in the garage, Troy. All you need is a little plum crazy.
Went over to my buddies Hoss Leger and Cindy with Julie to show them my new TA. Thought we go to the cul-de-sac and take some pictures... One big block six pack v-code Challenger R/T and small block six pack j-code Challenger TA.. Excuse the driver's floor, it needs vacuuming.......
Then, Julie and I went home...

Troy, how do you like the tires (bias I assume) on your car compared to present day rollers..
Troy, very nice club display at the Autorama! Car looks amazin! When you say it is not perfect are you referring to that decal only! :nana:

Al, these aren't as bad as the F70x14's I have driven before, but they are still rough and follow the grooves, just not as bad....

Man, that sucker is on back-order at my favorite place to get my Mopar reproduction parts... May have to go straight to Dave's at ECS.. Good eye....
I love your 70 T/A. I also love the 71 R/T's and convertibles. The last of the good cars to own. :Twocents:
Good work Troy!
:2thumbs: :coolgleamA: great stuff
Well, the time has come and gone on my fleeting E-body ownership. New owner of my former '70 Challenger T/A has come and got the car. I will be using the money to buy something I've always wanted tomorrow. I'll update that on another thread.... The T/A is a VERY cool car nonetheless and the new owner will really enjoy it..
Cheers, it was a fun short ride...
1. Last day in the Mopar Nest with the Daytona and '71 R/T..
2. Waiting to load'er up.
3. Secure in the trailer...
4. Off to the Detroit area
Man you really don't keep cars long. :popcrn:

Well, people here have only known me for a few years..
I had my 1st six pack Charger R/T for nearly 10 years, a survivor '71 R/T for 10+ years, a '68 Hemi Charger R/T for 10+ plus years, my current Daytona since 2008, my former '69 Charger 500 for nearly 10 years.... So, yeah, I do keep cars..... But, no one ever said you have to keep cars for a certain amount of time. Plus, the cars were a means to an end and that end is decided by me.. ;D.. The car I'm getting tomorrow is ever so close to the "end".

I hope it is a 71 Challenger R/T Convert.
You keep some for a while. Heck I have had my 500 for over 10 years now. But would kick it to the curb for a project Daytona.

OK, I'll let the cat out of the hat... I'm getting another E.. a '71 Plymouth 'Cuda, convertible, v-code, original a/c 4-speed car in the pigment of Moulin Rouge with white interior....

Sounds like a super cool car.
