I tried contacting a company that reproduces rubber parts - i sent photos to them - they said they will get back too me in the next month or so - i can send mine out to them if they decide to go forward with effort.

I called BE/A Parts 2 weeks ago and spoke to Mike Ross about reproducing the front center filler. He said that he will not get involved with that part unless someone sends him all the rubber fillers and they have to be in very good condition. He will not reproduce just certain parts.

is there anybody on this board that can supply a very good set to Mike?????????????????????????????????????
I will call Mike again.
I was going to donate mine for the cause & he said that someone at a Mopar show said they allready had the deal sealed and were going to be selling them soon. That was about 5 months ago. :scratchchin:

hi - nice of you to donate the fillers - if you wait for somebody else to do it - you will wait a long time - i haven't seen any repop fillers - not sure who said that - but they are not doing anything - :2thumbs:
Maybe my set was not up to par for Mike. I sent him pic's then he said someone else allready was going to make them. :shruggy:
I will try to get a hold of Mike soon.

you would think after 5 months they would be made and up for sale - thats why i think that person is not going to do anything! :shruggy:
I'm needing a full set for my 74, none to be found, hope someone decides to get off the stick and make em soon, along with a lot of other parts like front fenders and doors.

Thats the first time I have heard anyone say they want doors for a 74 reproduced. I have a spare passenger door for one but im halfway across the country from you.
my car was from VA Beach... the body was filled with sand and pine needles, so a lot of the lower metal is rusted severely, upper body and frame are excellent, but anywhere the sand and such could lay rusted out. It leaves me in an odd situation when looking for repair panels and parts.
Hi;
I need them badly too. I was wondering if these fillers can be made of fiberglass. Has anybody tried it yet? Any idea?

Replica Plastics has made all but the rear center one - they only make them in fiberglass not rubber. Company located in Alabama.
My set is not good enough to make a duplicate of. :rotz: :icon_smile_dissapprove:
How do we get info on the fiberglass ones....got link?

i thought somebody on this board had all the plans and were ready to reproduce them a year ago - what happened??
I already sent my chrome qtr molding to be reproduced, firewall padding, front splash guards and windshield felts. They were not available at the time. Still need to reproduce the front grilles and rear taillight housings.

I talked to Replica Plastics a year ago and he told me he did not see a market for 73/74 Charger Bumper Fillers. BOY IS HE WRONG!!!!
Rudy,
I think you are talking about Charger Kid, he was looking into making new fillers at one time.

Doesn't look like that is going to happen
Does anyone here know someone that works in a Rubber Mold Shop? With a slow economy maybe someone would take a look at this type of project as a way to fill the empty schedule. The down side is you could have $35,000.00 to $45,000.00 in tooling costs to make the fillers then you have the cost of a sheetmetal company to stamp out the skeleton of the fillers. The upside is if you sold 100 of them at $500.00 for a 6 piece set you could get your money back pretty quick.
This is a question for all that need Bumper Fillers. What do you feel is a fair price for all 6 Bumper Fillers?
Theres not really much to base a fair price off of. I'd say my max would be around $200. There is no way I would pay $500. For that price I would just find some old ones that are in fair shape and repair them and save quite a bit of money.
I went without the bumper fillers. Moved the bumpers in closer to the car with brackets from a 72 for the rear and drilled new holes in the front brackets. I didn't like them anyway.

Please post some pic's of this bro'..... :icon_smile_big: :2thumbs:
I don't have any close up and all the trim is not back on yet. Try these.
Thanks ...that looks sweet.
Did you just drill holes in the front bumper brackets?
Did you have a hard time getting the rear bumper brackets to fit?
Hi;
Can anybody guaranty selling at least 50sets of them per month for 12 months in a row? I can offer 188$/set, I have expert friends in China that can make the moulds for me at a friction of the cost in the states and I can do the injection, drilling and assembly in UAE with low labour cost. I do all the investment and can start delivery in three months. The same material, the same shape and the same quality, maybe even better than the original because of the big progress in the quality of raw materials. Is there anybody serious here to help me sell them?
Pouria
Between E-Bay, Moparts & DC.COM, you should come close to your quota. :Twocents:

that would be great - count me in - there are numerous places to sell them - the major car shows would be a great place to show case them.

The front was pretty easy. I did just drill new holes and slide it back closer to the car. The back was easy too after I got some new brackets from a 71 - 72. I just switched the brackets and bolted it up. The gas filler tube had to be loosened up slightly from its bracket too. As you can see I don't have all the trim back on yet but it does look pretty good. I cant decide whether to go with chrome or black trim. I like the look of the black around the painted bumpers.
Hi Rudyjrusa;
I do not live in USA and have never been there. Our common point is that I also own a 73 Charger that is missing these fillers as well as many other parts. Can you really help sell? I can make them, really.
Pouria
thats 600 sets :scratchchin:
Yes, any quantity less than this is not worth making the moulds! That's why I need your help.
I'm in need of a set.
i'd be interested in a set or two :yesnod:
why don't you start a thread in the general section, with a poll and see what kind of response you get :shruggy:
there there has got to be 600 73/74 cars that need these :Twocents:

not sure how to setup a poll??
it would be a good way to judge demand.
(http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/8080/oneofonevo8.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)
I believe there to be a demand. people are always coming up to my car and asking if I would be willing to sell those moldings (because of their pristine condition)or the bright work that surrounds them. I wouldnt mind having a spare set myself.
Well it seems every 73/74 owner needs at least one set,i need 3 sets .So go for it!!! :popcrn: :popcrn:
if lenses are being reproed, why not fillers ? same cars same demands. And nice used tail lenses are easier to find and cheaper.
OF COURSE, as far they are not made on Gold!
Count me in a Front Filler. I need one too. I would even buy a set if needed.
I know we would all like to keep our cars original , Have you thought of eliminating them altogether? I have not attemted this yet, but I think there is room to elongate the mounting holes in the bumper brackets, at the point of the bracket to frame mounts. Although I've been a big fan of the third gen. charger, I've never liked the filler on that car, even way back then. The good side to the change is you would not be cutting off any of the bracket, so if and when the filler portions are reproduced, you can slide the brackets back to the original position! ! ! ! ! Just a thought.... USSDODGE
maybe not enough 71/72 rear bumper brackets to all of us to save the rear gap ? plus the demand will overprice those LOL.
would need also the gas tank filler neck ( or modify the actual one, moving the bracket and fit deeper )
sorry I want and I like fillers. They fit andf fill very well the gap. Gives a smoother finish filling the gap that 71/72 ALSO HAVE

Hi;
Well it seems that the demand is good enough. I am deciding to go for it. The next step is one of you guys find a nice set and send it to me. My 73 Charger here is missing the front set and the rear set is in bad condition, not good enough to copy. I'll pay for it. I have friends and relatives in San Jose and I do business with some companies over there. So if anybody can help me in this regard there, please go ahead and deliver 1~2 sets to my friends and get money. After having them in hand, I need around 6 months to make 1000sets and send to the states. I am sure those 1000sets are sold in 3 months and then I'll send another 1000sets and so on.
Pouria
alright guys - here is your chance to make the frt and rear bumper fillers - who has a good set to give up?? i don't - please make sure everything is legit - don't want somebody losing there good set of bumper fillers.
Well; I wouldn't suggest any of you to give up his/her own set. It is a project and his its own risks actually. Have any of you ever did anything like this?! I've done many times and have plenty of experience and know about the risks. It should be possible to find a couple of sets there. The price is not an issue if not marked up :icon_smile_big: But anyway, keep your own if it is in good shape and only send to me if you have spares. Or try to find nice sets for me.
Pouria
Hello;
Is anybody willing to answer? This project can be useful for all but to do that I need someone's help.

I want it, but can't afford it right now, maybe next year
Hey for you guys needing the bumper fillers, just found online that you can just elongate the bumper brackets holes and push it in a bit more for the front, and for the rear i am planing the same modifying the brackets(cutting them out some, good luck.
GREAT!!! THANKS...
Note:
rear needs to get 71/72 bumper brackets and will be a plug and play job, better than cut and weld your existing one
;)
LOL
Welcome!!!
GREAT, BUT I AM HAVING A HARD TIME FINDING THE REAR BUMPER BRACKETS FOR THE 71/72, IF KNOW ANY, PLEASE LET ME KONW, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. 323-841-6764. EDDY. eduardoserrano@netzero.com
yeah, well, just used market, but I don't think it is hard at all, just that is a part not directly offered. I mean is not a part what anybody will think to get money from the begining, like a Rallye cluster, dash pad, bulged hood, tal lights, console etc... Need to locate a car being parted out and ask.
One idea is check for example on ebay, a guy selling 71/72 parts, check the other items for sale, and you'll notice if its parting out a car, and ask directly for the specific part ;)
If I know one will let you know ;)
I think I can find one set locally in Venezuela, but, international shipping from here will be OUTRAGEOUS via private courier ( Fedex, UPS, DHL ) maybe quite affordable via regular post service but will take around one month to arrive
