Title: Sending unit question
Post by: WINGMAN on March 01, 2016, 04:02:41 PM
I am looking to replace my OEM fuel sending unit in my 69 Daytona . Any feedback on the ones from Classic industries or other venders. :shruggy: Thanks.  (Wingman).

When mine acted up in my Charger I lucked out - found a half full float.  There's a few posts on the linearity or lack thereof.

A buddy of mine bought one from Classic Ind and it did not read correctly. I bought one from Kramers Auto about 6 months ago and so far so good.

I got from Vans LOOOONG time ago... sure did need some adjustment on floating position and rheostat point... but so far so good it went nice and on those years was the only sender with metal strip up to terminal and brass float. Rest were plastic float and wire

Plus, on those year I paid $40... rest were up to $100

There have been a few threads lately on this.  I THINK Kramers are supposed to be good to go.   :shruggy: :shruggy: :shruggy:

Thanks Guys for all the input. My 440 Daytona had 5/16 fuel line from the factory. I went with 3/8 all the way. I thought all 440 and Hemi cars were 3/8 from the factory  :shruggy:. Also when I dropped the tank it had a 7-70 date on the tank and my car was built 6, 6, 69 WTF.     (Wingman.  Jay.

I researched the fuel line sizes a month or so back, and if I recall correctly, '69 and earlier, Hemi was the only one that had the 3/8 supply line.  440 got the 5/16.  In '70, both the 440 and Hemi was 3/8".  My original '69 R/T had 5/16 supply and 1/4 for the return.
