Rene, I wonder who dreamed about owning that car more...me, you or maybe Troy. ;D
What made it worse was it was so close to me here in Arkansas, I could have driven over and back in one morning.
Now I think they moved it to Houston near Troy. I say buy it Troy.

very true, i figured out the money thing and its a definite maybe money wise. i would take the nose and wing off and use it on a killer clone. then restore it back to a 69 500. i got the complete front end from my daytona project. that car has real daytona fenders on it.
then i thought I'm already building a daytona clone. I WANT A REAL SUPEBIRD!
so i have to stay focused. i picked up a 70 charger body from a mopar guy that killed himself $500. i couldn't pass it up. i stored it in my friends warehouse, for the future pro street daytona.
my buddy told me thats it he has no more room to store cars for me. i have 3 stored there.
the next car i buy will be a superbird. Rene

Darn it, I won't be able to come up with any kind of actual amount to offer him for another 2-3 weeks. Guess I"ll probably miss out on this car.

I remeber seeing that car on ebay advertised as a daytona .It was from Corning NY .Had alot options but the AC was a give away to its being a 500.As there wasnt any tag or vin info when it was on ebay. And BK bought the car

That car is very interesting, I don't have but I think 16 different 500's that I know of with A/C on them from the factory. So its not that common of an option. Not sure of those how many had power windows as well, but it isn't all of them.

Welcome BK. Great to see you over here.
The guys over on your site have been a great help to my projects. There's a lot of wing car knowledge over there. I'm glad Rene (bigblocksam) told me about your site. I try not to bug the guys with my cloner questions too often.

I'll be honest with you -- the first I've heard of this site was when I saw the link on Style. This looks to be a great site with a lot of action on one of my favorite Models -- the Charger. As far as questions over there -- there's no such thing as a bad question -- and since Clones/Tributes/Recreations do exist, I've always felt they're legitimate discussions.

Who is the admin of this board? We might be able to scratch each other's back.

Still trying to scrap up something to make you a serious offer.

Post by: 69_500 on May 11, 2006, 03:53:57 PM
Would love to add it to my garage to be quite honest. To be realistic though its still about a 70/30 on being able to even scrape enough money up to make a serious offer on the car. I would love to have it, but I'm not willing to put other bills in jeopardy just to get it. I'm young, I'll have chances to get these cars in the future, but that doesn't make me want one now any less to be honest.
Title: Re: 1969 charger 500 with wing and nose

The best offer I currently have is an Air Force Captain in Colorado who would give me $75K to end the auction now. I told him I wouldn't do that -- and he said the offer was still good at the end of the auction. I've have a lot of calls from people who claim they're interested -- but the car is stalled at $50K right now. It went from $55K to a little over $70K on the last day of the last auction.

That would be me. I used to bounce around to a lot of other boards but I rarely post (I just read a LOT). Lately I've been a bit swamped which is why we still don't have decent graphics yet. We do have a Classifieds section though... ;)

I love the question on your auction BK:
"Nice car, but when did F5 become Super Desireable?????????"

Well, not sure if I'd go out and buy a box of crayons in F5, BUT, this IS a C500 at the very least and as close to a real Daytona as you can possibly get without it being real.......... So, what the heck does the F5 have anything to do with it?....    :image_294343:

Good luck Dave....

Troy, when the 68 is done you will be able to sell it for the amount to puchase a real Daytona for. At least I'm pretty sure you will be able to.

I'm hoping to land the 500 that BK has, still working on getting some cash together to make an offer. Have to liquidate some things to do that.

Let me know Danny. The auction ends today and I have a couple people who claim they'll be contacting me at the end of the auction. I have a standing offer from an Air Force Captain in Colorado for $75K -- that might sweeten the offer at the end of the auction.

Danny,
Man, I'm so hoping you can pull it off !!!  You like me, Daytonas have a special place due to our Dad's owning one in the day..........  I've thought about Dave's C500 ever since I found out he had it for sale... What a cool car !!!  "Daytona" with air............

Title: Re: 1969 charger 500 with wing and nose

I've really felt a loaded (Factory Air, Tic-Toc-Tac, power windows, woodgrain steering,...) Charger 500 with about $30,000 worth of metal Daytona parts to be worth closer to $85,000.
Title: Re: 1969 charger 500 with wing and nose
Post by: 69_500 on May 15, 2006, 04:45:39 PM
I think you can get closer to $80K out of it BK. However I can't make you an offer on the car. I've been trying for weeks now to clear up some cash to make you an offer, but its not going to happen. Some things I thought I could liquidate for cash, won't get me as much as I thought they would. So I'm out. Wish like heck that I could afford to get the car, but I just can't at this point in time. Sorry.

Bummer -- I have the reserve under $80K -- but it looks like it won't hit that. I call all of the people that wanted me to call after the auction, and if it still doesn't sell, I'll list it on  **Inactive Link Removed**  and try Plan B
Title: Re: 1969 charger 500 with wing and nose
Post by: 69_500 on May 15, 2006, 07:07:42 PM
It doesn't look like I could even top the $75K offered by the gentleman in Colorado. So I'm out. I have tried just about all of my means to come up with the cash, but just can't seem to do it right now. One of these days I'll own another one.

Oh yeah... I have to say, I'm getting a little anxious deep down... Not so much for me, but Kim and went Julie decides to show up and where will I be... I'm assuming she'll not be at work no more than a week prior.... It's an unknown for me and that's totally foreign to me, not knowing..... We already have her little Longhorn clothes and little socks..  :icon_smile_big:
Still looking for her tiny Mopar stuff.........

I'm actually painting the nursery now.....  Checking back here now and then for a breather from the paint........  Then, we do it all over again at the new house in August..........

Thanks for asking Danny..

Nothing like having that first child. Its incredible. I was lucky enough I was getting up to go to work when my wife went into labor. So just took her right then and there. 1 hour later Dakota was born.

The Mopar clothes for kids are hard to come by. However I've noticed quite a few of the t-shirts for the CARS movie have the Superbird on them. So I've snatched up a bunch of them for my son.
