the owner was the head of DC Solar, who sponsors Kyle Larson in the the nascar cup series
the story sounds like a repeat of the bernie madoff ponzi scam

I wonder if they will be auctioned off?
Google Blood money auction. Most likely they will go to auction. Probably crazy prices too. I went to the Blood Money auction. It was nuts. Several cars where documented fakes too. One want for more than what it was being sold for at a dealer, before the Marshal seized it.
here is the list of cars involved here. pretty extensive collection

Interesting... :scratchchin:
That Amistadi fellow is the same guy who listed those two "barnfind" Superbirds on eBay last fall. He was forced to end the auctions for falsifying information...
Is amazing how nice of a car collection you can accumulate when you steal money from someone else. Or in this case a bunch of people. My parents got milked on a deal like that from our good insurance friend years ago. He introduced his son to us on a silent interest in a restaurant chain along with half the people in Abilene. It was a fraud from the word go. He never spent a day in jail and stole millions.

Sounds like: Bernie Madoff meets Elizabeth Holmes.
Crime does pay....... Till you get caught.
Hope the cars go to good homes.
Nice collection as noted above...yes. But before anybody gets too envious, remember that there have been more than a few instances where the reason to build a collection like this was essentially money laundering...ie, where can you put all that ill gotten money obtained through fraud without attracting the attention of banks and law enforcement. Classic Cars are a great place, particularly if they accelerate in value while they sit.
Remember a few years ago there was the guy doing the fake blood testing business, he had a collection of Mopars and Shelby's. There was the guy running numbers out of NYC, again Mopar collection (that was pretty well known).
That was the blood money collection irs seized hemi bird etc
