Holy crap, I just watched this video before you posted it. I thought it was cool.

I wonder if that car still exists, notice the 68 dash pad on the 69 dealer demo

Challenger340

I noticed the film was made "based on information on Sept 1 1968" ?

Dunno if the early '69 production date explains the "pointy" '68 style dash pad/heater controls, and also "68" style door pockets.... etc

but it does have the correct 1969 only "lipped" Beauty Rings on the road wheels same as our R/T SE

If it does still exist that one be one rare 'one off' 1969 R/T SE for sure.

It's possible, but I doubt it. How far ahead of time was this car built? Is it really a 68 with the 69 styling added to judge how well it worked?

Noticed too that the dash seems to be a pointy 68 version dash pad and notice, that if the hemi engine compartment was taken of the car near the waterway, there isn't a "HEMI" badge on the door.. I have a friend with what might be the #1 1969 Dodge Charger built, a R4 Charger R/T, and it has a 68-style dash pad.

It was actually a 'film strip' back in the day...    we used to have them in school way back when.   The pings would signal when to advance the film.    The audio was usually an album played on a record player.

Some folks from Detroit might recognize some of the backgrounds as being from Belle Isle back in the day.   And the Detroit skyline pre-Ren-Cen.

Anyway... pretty cool  :2thumbs:

If I am correct it also has the 68 headlight surrounds which were sadly cut from the 69.

Ghoste

It looks like the same color as the one used in the 69 dealer brochure.  It had a lot of 68 stuff on it too.

Yep, looked that way to me.  I've always wanted to put them on my 69 anyway.  :2thumbs:
