I wonder how the seats/bench are/is mounted to that rubber floor.
The rubber floor actually makes for a softer ride. It was a problem when driving the car on really bumpy roads though because the floor pans would hit the pavement, scraping the floors apart.

I wonder how much more interior heat & noise you would get without the full carpeting.

I had a 1970 Coronet Deluxe & my wife had a 1975 Duster that both had the rubber floor mats instead of carpeting. There was still the jute type insulation under it, so there wasn't really any difference in sound or heat. Both were also slant six cars with hardly any creature comforts, just heat, steering wheel & an AM radio. :lol:
