From the 1968 50th Anniversary post here earlier, it's pretty clear some of us have had our cars for a significant stretch of time now. 29-years is the longest I heard of so-far, can anybody beat that one (mine is 22-years in April)? Another question: is your car older or younger than you are (I'm 10-years older than mine)?
I have owned my 70 convertible Challenger since 1982 36 years in may :2thumbs:
Mine was my first car. It will be 42 years in October!
I bought mine ('69 Bee), from my Father, in 1980 (when I was 18). He bought it new..
'Bird I bought in Feb 1990, when I was a month short of 28 and I've now had it for exactly 28 years.
Well, my '73 Charger has been in my family since it was new. In my garage maybe 12 years. ;)
Dan
I've had mine for 13 years. Not the longest by any stretch, but damn it seems like yesterday when I drug this thing home. Car is 5 months and nine days older than me. :icon_smile_big:
Wednesday, May 4, 1977.
I got my 66 Charger in March of 1974.....still have it....so in less than a month to go, makes it 44 years of ownership......
I would guess someone with a vintage 8-door Chrysler 'Airporter'. ;)
May 25, 1981... My Sixteenth Birthday. Brother and Sister bought it in the Summer of 79.
Well I'm a new boy to this Mopar thing..only had my 69 for a little over 2 years (well most of it!)....but I'm slightly older than the old girl. I was 51 a couple of Friday's back .....my car was 49 in December as far as I can tell.
I've had my Challenger T/A for 40 years now, my other assorted E bodies for about 15-35 yrs, and my 70 Charger for about 32 yrs
Got the 73 when I was 16...that was 15 years ago. I've had the 70 for about a year and a half.
Since June of 1992
31 years this March for my 71 Charger

Similar here. The GTS for 40, Charger for 32.
First 69 Charger in 1976, still got it, & they just kept coming.
It will be 35 years for me this year...1969 Charger R/T.
I hope one day I can say I've owned mine for several decades, but I'm still in the Honeymoon phase with my 70, having owned it for just 2 years. It's 13 years older than me.
36 years
Bought my 71 Challenger convertible in June 1972. Bought my 74 Charger in 1987.

First car bought in 1982, last year in high school and still sits in the garage. My other Mopar bought in 1997 so 21 years on that one. No plans to part with either anytime soon . . .
:2thumbs:
My first vehicle (a '66 F100 truck) I bought in 1980, still have it.
I brought my Charger home October 1986, so in a few months it will be 32 years. I am older than both of them, I'm a '64 model. ;D
This is the morning after I bought the Charger, the Pinto was mine too.

Last time I posted to one of these it was 30 years ago. Now I have owned it for 35 years and in my family for 48 yrs.
Pic with strips to protect doors still on doors and a pic of me in the valliant we traded in for the charger. Didn't realize how much I looked like a bobble head.
I've had one for 8 years, the other for 6. :Twocents:
My father bought the '69 brand new, it's the first car I ever drove (1972) and it has been in my garage for the past 17 years. :icon_smile_big:
late 69/ early 70 photo
we've grown old together
Purchased my first car on Feb 1st, 1987. A '69 Charger SE 383-4bbl... still own it today. I was nearly 17 years old then and I'll be 48 in a couple of weeks, where has the time gone? But I remember the day we went to go purchase it like it was yesterday...
I have owned 6 or 7 Chargers, over the years,I owned a 66 for 12 years before I had to sell(wife got sick) it.
Current 1969 I have had for just over 14 months.
and the car is 11 years older then me.
I hope to have it for so long I will be getting that flying car conversion done to it like on Back to the future II.
I got my 68 Charger in 1985. Had it for 20 years sold it. Was owed by him for 12 and back here at home again.
32 years.

Man, some of you guys are getting old & had your cars for ever. I have had mine since I was a teenager & going on 28 years here for my red 70 R/T S.E. Other cars have come a gone but this one will always stay. Still unrestored & looks good enough to cruise. Ibought it just as you see it. Haven't done nothing but wash & wax it & drive it.
Very nice :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

Nearing completion on a restoration of my '68 Charger that I've owned for 43 years.
