Back in about 1989-90 I drove my 71 on a 900 mile round trip back home for a family reunion. Was my only vehicle then.

Then about 5-6 yrs later my van was acting up during a major job change and I had to drive my 71 prolly 700 miles round trip back to class after completing on the job training at home.

A guy over at FBBO had one. He was the same guy I met through another site....he sent me half a valance panel so I could repair a damaged one.

Mine was crunched on the right side...

I cut the bent area off then welded the 2 together.

Thanks, I agree. They state 24 ounces of R-134.
My friend seems to prefer to go by the scale I posted above. It concerned me a bit.

Quote from: Polygon on Yesterday at 04:18:51 PMNacho, when you took it on the road trip I bet it was very attention getting..

Sure... in fact in one of them I was with a really pretty friend and while I was on a gas station filling the tank she kept into the car waiting and heard one guy saying "look that hottie girl" and his friend told after that, FORGETT THE CHICK, LOOK AT THE CAR!

(She heard those comments and laugh, then she told me)

LOL.

it sounds like a mix of too much refrigerant and potentially causing a faulty in the pressure switch. i remember in the vintage air paperwork, there was a page in each instruction set with a massive warning about the exact weight of oil and gas to put in, and not to add oil if new VA compressor, as they come with the "needed amount". the aftermarket systems do seem to be more touchy than any factory systems, but well worth the cool air in summer.
