Title: Charger 500 heart-surgery
Post by: hemi68charger on July 21, 2018, 02:29:59 PM
Operation C500 Head-gasket replacement;
Well, seems the culprit for the coolant leak out the front of the block is the head gasket. Seems the head gasket is soaked from the coolant passage down and ending at the spot where the coolant was coming out front at the head/block interface. Time to clean the motor, surfaces and check straightness on the block deck and head surface. Hopefully this mess won't refill more things wrong.. I will also change out that firewall brake line.. WTF.. It was that way.. Good time to change it out..

Hi Troy,

Its the dreaded 'black cheapo' gasket leak!
My Moparmate had loads of grief with his 383 Fury engine...

Yep, cheapo black-gasket syndrome... :rotz: :rotz: :rotz: :brickwall:

Always use the Felpro's myself, very reliable even with unskimmed heads and decks! :pity:
