Hi
On my front cross member there is a steel disc (approx 2") welded on with the number 79 stamped. What does this mean?
Does the HEMI and 6 pack have a different gearbox to the std 440? If so whats the different?
Couple of new photos for ya.
Thanks again

not 100% sure but that disc on the K frame is the factory part number & the Hemi torqueflite has an extra clutch disc 5 as apposed to 4 i believe , :popcrn:
good pictures !! awesome line up :drool5:
not all K frames have the "coins" on them...I don't have one on either car. Some have more than one, too.
the four speeds are the same internally--all three big motors got the stronger 18 spline boxes. everything else came with a 23 spline input shaft, weaker gears, etc. The automatic hemi cars do have a different forward drum with 5 clutch discs instead of 4.
OK,, questions answered............. So,,
Wow !! What a view....... :2thumbs:
Hey, it's Happy Boss 429 day (4/29).
I've been doing that all week. 4/25, 4/26, 4/27. 4/28, 4/29. It's muscle car week!
My coworkers now think I'm just a little more insane, too!
