No clue on where that car is personally, but I think that the club knows where it is. Considering it is a factory HEMI Daytona.

Were they pretty close to Radke out there in California or not? Just wondering. Anyone know what happend to the HEMI Daytona that Pete Haldiman had after he sold the HEMI 500 to my dad? It was painted Petty blue with a red tail stripe, I believe it was a factory 4 speed car as well.

Fresno is up the other end of the state.    As far as I know, they still have the car.

Radke's Petty blue Hemi Daytona was an automatic as I remember it, but I could be wrong on that detail.  It's been a long time.

I don't think the blue Phil Jackson 4-speed car is the same car though.   The paint on the Jackson car would have slid a long way if its the same as it needed a total restoration, and it had 42,000 miles.  Radke's only had 17,000.   Jackson's car had a different owner in 1980 than Radke/Hamdiman.   I just don't think it is the same car.  Dave, do you have the VIN on Radke's car so I can cross reference it?

I can just about guarantee you it's in the Dowing's garage. They live east of Fresno, Ca in the foothills as I recall. A very good friend of mine keeps in touch with them.
Unfotunately, Mike Dowing contracted some horrible ailment affecting his back in the '80's when he was about 38ish I believe. Thus there's not as much activity with this car or his other toys as I'm sure he and his family would like to have.I introduced Mike Dowing to a friend of mine who owned the car after Gilbert Tarr. And that's from whom the Dowing's bought the car.

I had thought that the Petty blue HEMI Daytona that Pete owned was a 4 speed but I could be mistaken on that part.

This is the 1st US 440 daytona .It looks like a Radke car.It sold new from Shope motors in W VA .Last owner I knew that had it was Larry Bell of New Castle IN .Then it went To MI.To Browney Mascow. It got repainted as the car has about 5000 original miles on it and has a dealer installed 6 pack

Same car as pictured earlier above

1st Winged Car shipped in the USA. 1st USA Winged Car Period! R4 Bright Red, 9,246 miles, 440, automatic, RWD.  This is one of the rarest cars ever produced, the Winged Cars couldn't be given away back when they were built, now they are a hot commodity. This Daytona is the 1st Winged Car shipped in the USA and was never registered until June 6, 1972, they sat at the dealerships for a long time. The original owner owned the car until Jan. 19, 1990 when it changed hands twice (never registered) and I bought it, it had about 6,000 miles then. The mileage the original owner put on the car were really fun and hard miles. As of today, there are 9,246 actual miles. It left Creative Industries with 17 miles on the odometer, on Sept.19, 1969 the Multiple Carburetor 6 Pac was installed, 32 days after it was shipped from Creative Industries. Shope Motors did the installation and it was noted in the Warranty Book and covered by Chrysler. This Daytona is 1 of 3 documented 6 Pac Daytona's. The car has a great history it left the factory painted R4 Bright Red (1 of 75), and when the car was 6 weeks old, it was painted Plum Crazy with a Gold wing. In 1974 it was painted like Richard Petty's car, looking like that it has appeared in several calendars and automotive books, it was really ugly. It was last on the road in 1977, the Pennsylvania inspection sticker is still on the windshield, then it went into storage until 1990. The car was taken back to it's original state from April to July 1995. The motor was gone through, everything was in good condition. The transmission was also rebuilt, it needed it, the gentleman that owned the car really ran it hard. There is NO filler in the car, the car was stripped to the bare metal and then repainted with PPG base/clear. There has never been any damage or rust anywhere on the car. The interior is 100 original, the only flaw is 2 tiny 1/4 tears in each front seat, so small the camera will not even pick them up. Everything works except the fuel gauge, I've tried a new sending unit, and checked the gauge, it just will not work. The car is as original as you will find, (still has the original spare tire, never used), it's just like it was when it was new at the dealership. Chrysler has just returned it to me, they have had it since this past February when they had it on display at the Daytona 500. After that, they used it at the Richmond International Raceway for the Media Launch for the new Charger. The paperwork with the car is as follows: Odometer Disclosure Statement Original Title dated June 14, 1972 Original Window Sticker Warranty Book with 6 Pac notation Operator's Manual Broadcast Sheet Envelope from Creative Industries with spare parts This is a numbers matching car, Galen Govier knows the car, and many other High Power Mopar people know it too. This is probably one of the most correct Daytona's in existence, plus, it's the 1st Daytona shipped in the USA, the 1st USA Winged Car period!

It's listed with showyourauto.com, with a pass-through link on autabuy.com.

Showyourauto.com says it will be auctioned, with bidding starting on March 18th.  Looking at their website, I believe that means they will list it on eBay then.  Guess it will find a new owner soon?
