Update...Will have logo on glass and be tempered, not laminated.  Correct thickness etc...  Prototypes are being worked on. No date for test fitting yet.  Could be a few months anyway.

All the more reason to buy & promote these initial Aero car parts when they become available... what if the entire nose assemblies eventually become available at a reasonable price?

:icon_smile_big:   Well, the current AMD product line warrants at least Jack Frost warnings down there... :yesnod:

If anyone had told me 15 years ago that the current array of high quality repro sheetmetal would be available now, as well as new 470HP Challengers from Ma Mopar, and other high quality repros from BE&A and others... and now FINALLY excellent `Cuda & Challenger interior panels from Metro Parts... I would have thought they needed to be drug tested!  :eek2:

I agree with you, I never thought any of this stuff would ever be available, either. I just wish the prices were more reasonable in general, & not just wing car stuff, but everything.

Oh well.  ::)

Yeah some repro stuff seems expensive like taillight assemblies and upper door pads but the $850 charger quarter I hung on my car seemed very reasonable for how easy it went on.

Perhaps planning the parade route was a bit premature... I just talked to Eric & Alan  at AMD, and neither knew anything about the back glasses & trim being made by AMD...  Alan said that it has been considered, but concerns about a limited potential market were the roadblocks...  I might call or write Mark H. after I research the matter further.

Tell them all markets are limited, think of this one as exclusive.

I met Rick and saw some of his parts at Monster Mopar in 2008.  I remember the parts looking pretty good up close, better than most repros that I have seen... especially the headlight buckets & pivots.

I called and talked to Rick today, and he does not use email.  Stuart, please post all the pics that you have of his repros or email them to me... THANKS!

Basically correct, but the prices I was quoted were slightly lower... maybe to offset shipping costs?  :shruggy:

Assuming I did not misunderstand any quoted prices...

Pivots - $599  (Pair)
Buckets - $524  (Pair)
Latch Tray - $500
Rad Spt Angle - $90
Hardware Kit - $169 (he said he would knock $70 off the kit if part of a large purchase like nose internals)
Low Head Height Bolts to attach buckets to nose cone - $90 (apparently not part of hardware kit?)

Above items were quoted for a Daytona...

Superbird Nose Cone - $4,500

All prices plus shipping if not picked up at an event like MMW Indy, MMW St Louis, or Mopar Nats...

Hopefully I jotted the prices down right, but get your own quotes for the items you need.

Haha, yes it does.  Maybe that dude that Doug posted waiting for the truck could be the show mascot.

ok. So what happend when you made that call to AMD 3 weeks ago???  Please tel lus they figured out all they have to do is send the specs to the people that reproduce all camaro firebird gto chevelle window moldings... Since they have the tecno to build them. Im sure they could stamp out those 4 pesky project holding up mother fu****rs....

Not sure... I'm only the messenger... Sorry....... But I know they wouldn't be wasting anyone's time if they weren't in the development stage. Apparently it takes a long time for something to be ready for commercial release.

I would be more interested in the glass. That's the magic piece of the puzzle. I think I could make my own moldings from some other car. All depends on the price I guess.

What will be really ironic is when the Daytona glass and rear plug is being made and readily available (price not withstanding) and the Vega rear window and hatch is impossible to find :)

So all the Vega restorers will have hard time completing their projects?  You wish for cruel things.

Actually Onebadsuperbird is restoring a V8 Vega but I think it is a wagon.

Talked to a glass guy at SEMA. He said that if I would remove my back glass and let him ship it overseas so that they could make a mold, he would give me two of the new glasses as compensation. Uhhhh...no.
He's been looking for a Daytona back glass as well. Anyone interested? I have his number. PM me if you want it.

Hi larry I was at sema also. I talked to amd. They said that they were repoping the glass and rear window trim and to give them a call first of the year.
It sounded like the trim was already out for test fit. I have the salesmans card at home if anybody needs it.

Should send him a link to the Superbird glass on E-bay.
He could buy it and do what he needs with it, then sell it later after he's got his repops going.
Let 's see him put his money where is mouth is...  :yesnod: :D

Are they repopping the plug as well? Without the plug, I have no need for the window or trim...
