Title: Clutch options ?
Post by: 70 sublime on January 09, 2023, 08:00:25 PM
Well I need to order some parts to get the motor and 4 speed in my car

I do not have a disc or pressure plate yet

Engine is a stock 440 type build with an 833 4 speed set up

If you have to order the parts what is everyone using in their cars now ?

Was looking on Brewer's web site at this one

http://www.brewersperformance.com/proddetail.php?prod=CDF1023

Product ID: CDF1023
CDF1023 CENTERFORCE DUAL FRICTION 10.5" 23 SPLINE CLUTCH PKG FOR 130 TOOTH FLYWHEEL

Centerforce Dual Friction 10.5 clutch disc, alignment tool and pressure plate to fit all applications with 130 tooth 10.5 flywheel and 23 spline input transmissions. 90% more holding power than stock Borg & Beck clutch with lighter pedal effort, be advised that the clutch pedal overcenter spring will need to be removed for proper operation.

I would consult with Brewer's on that. I used to insist on Borg & Beck pressure plates, but it seems there have been improvements in clutch technology in the last 55 years  :shruggy: The newer clutch kits should have improved clamping and release cleaner
