I thought 6 pack cars had the wiper motor that turns 90 degrees where it bolts to the firewall to accommodate the large air cleaner? Thanks

Yes it is a 2 speed wiper motor.  He says the trunk pan is in great shape even though there is at least one rust hole in it. No jacks. No mention of build sheet. Wonder if there is anything missing in the nose.  The reserve at 85k is about the value of it in my opinion.
If i always dreamed of having a v code D21 fj5 bird, this would be a good one to go after.  It needs and deserves a high dollar resto. Only problem is the purchase price plus Rotisserie resto may possibility exceed the value of the car at the end of the day.

Having been in contact with the current owner, I can't believe the extent of the rust for being a lifelong Kentucky car. I didn't think cars down there rusted in in that manner...both the underside AND at the roof line. Those rear frame rails are going to look like that on the inside as well. Certainly going to leave some scars! As far as the top goes, usually it's the ocean side cars that rotted in that from the top down. He's got some remains of an unidentifiable build sheet in a zip lock bag that was found under the rear seat. I agree, she's about topped $$$ out for what the restoration is going to run. It's certainly a car worth doing though!  :yesnod:

I saw that car probably 30 years or so ago, deep in the mountain hollows of eastern Kentucky. At that time it was owned by a woman who also had a tor-red hemi bird. The green car sat out in a field for years, uncovered, and you can see the result of that. It wasn't nearly as rough as it appears today, but it was not in good condition at all even back then. Of course it wasn't for sale. The Hemi bird wasn't for sale either. That lady flatly told me that money couldn't buy either one of them. The hemi bird was later crushed by a tornado a little after I saw it. It was just destroyed. I don't know where it eventually went, but it sure needed a rebody after that tornado, tree and garage fell on it. It was rough before that incident as well. Anyway, there's a bit of history for you!

I looked at almost the identical car 25 yrs ago in Harrisonburg,VA.Same rust around the window plug, almost same everything everywhere.Belonged to a Harry Kline,
only thing I see different was at that time half the nose cone was rotted away.He stated it also came from KY.I have some old Polaroids if I can find them and two are from where it was sitting at the edge of a field with the woods behind it when he bought it.

What's it worth restored: minus the $80K Mark Worman charges to restore, and the long wait in line...

numbers 440-6 and 4-speed, pretty rare....

Currently, it seems $175-$225K is the 'advertised' window for a restored Six Pack 'Bird. Color, transmission and documentation all playing a part determining where they land in the window. This car is going to need at least $60-80K thrown at it if you do a lot of the work yourself. She's been subject to a tropical environment for a better part of her life! The math just doesn't work for me... :rotz:

"Very solid car. Trunk pan and floors are in great shape.  I am the 3rd owner of the car.  It has been garage kept most of its life.  31,577 actual miles on the car."

Seller say's very solid & garaged most of it's life. That's a bunch of Bullshit. A southern car or Kentucky car garaged most it's life don't get that rusty. It would have to sit out in a Michigan Field 30 years to get that rusty. LEON.

Having gone through this with my previous Superbird, the plug after being blasted will be even more swiss-cheese. The quarters are history. Seems the driver's quarter behind the door was hammered ( seems a chunk of bondo is about to flake off ). It is a cool project nonetheless and if I had a deep-restoration fund, would be a fun car to restore...

Last I heard the Hemi  car went to Lexington area several years ago.( no idea what happened to it after that )  I saw it and this one back many years ago ( Hemi car had a tree dropped across it )

As far as value, cars like this one usually sell for more than rational value compared to final worth.
Looking at the pictures I'll bet the rust is far worth that it first appears

Once they blast that thing there'll be a steering wheel and a pretty engine left. My Bee was running / driving with no holes apparent until we broke out the media blaster... and then we put 3 frame rails, torsion bar crossmember and a complete floor in it from firewall to tail light panel.

Sometimes there is value in just "having" the car... I mean, six pack 4speed Superbirds, aren't just lying around...  Hopefully whoever ends up with it has fun with the effort of resurrection...

Ended at 100,100. I suppose if they can restore it for 80k then it wasn't that bad of a purchase.
